MF Doom is Zev Love X from and early 90s rap group called KMD. They were a low selling group but they were well respected and did songs with other established artists (3rd base, Brand Nubian) and were signed to a major (Elektra). His brother Subroc (who was also in KMD) was killed when he got hit by a car crossing the street. They got dropped from their label. Zev Love pretty much disappeared from existence for years until he came back years later under a mask as MF Doom. nikkas had no idea who he was.

I know who he is lol..I just heard wrong

I thought he said joe, killer mike and mf doom had the best stories to turn into something outside of music ...so I thought doom was involved in something big outside of music lol...but he actually said they had some of the best “2nd or 3rd acts “ coming back into their career

Joe is wrong about 2chainz being Future if he was on another label

just another instance of them downplaying Future impact and career and stardom

2chainz career is a success he’s just no longer in demand.

Def Jam got him an album rollout with LeBron and he had Ariana Grande features. If none of that doesn’t work then the fans don’t care anymore

I think the joke he's trying to make is that most of these rappers don't have a steady income stream right now, and they need one. I don't think he means they should literally be making OnlyFans style content.
No, he said Safaree was masturbating on onlyfans and rappers should too

I think 2chainz was not album to make memorable project when he had everyone in raps attention

people saw the talent and enjoyed the singles and features but you need good albums to get a stanbase that will prop you up

2 Chainz was big in the early 2010s. With his personality he could've had a cult following after his verse on Mercy. I do think Def Jam had a major part in fumbling his career, and they're doing the same thing with Vince Staples right now to a lesser extent.

One of these days, y'all gonna learn to stop listening whenever Joe has criticism about Def Jam. :mjlol:

Chainz isn't doing astronomical numbers, but for a rapper that was effectively introduced to the public in 02, dealt with with being in a group seen as a one hit wonder, changed their name, then managed to build a presence again, he seems to be doing fine.

Is def Jam fumbling vince’s career or is he not that hot outside? I always hear about his personality more than his music. But I don’t know much about him I will admit

Facts

He had a stellar career. But to say he would be a superstar on another label is just absurd

Before I was bumped up at work I used to love when I would see a 3hr pod....but now I can only get about 30 mins at a time at work because of new responsibilities. But at least there is time left on my drive home
