That's cuz Joe(and the rest of the crew) knows Ice is sensitive and couldnt take it. They basically called Ice out about it(and joe to an extent) about it.

Joe going crazy at someone is just podding/COE. Joe knows he can go there with everyone(and they understand it's CoE) except Ice. He would take it personally.
