Never heard that shyt either :ld:

We came up on the Cha Cha Slide and Cupid Shuffle :ld:
I've heard it but it wasn't until I was like mid-30s before I realized it was the Electric Slide song. My family wasn't an Electric Slide family in the first place. At all of our get togethers or parties it was primarily blues being played and old nikkas two stepping. If somebody threw this shyt on it'd be crickets, but let a nikka throw on Stroking or Down Home Blues and the party gone get turned out.

Ice & Parks lying asses.

I know damn well there's no way Ice has his shyt off with as far up his girl's ass he always is
That makes his podwives story sound more pathetic considering he was bragging about how quick he was responding to his girl's texts at 2 in the morning. That nikka was stressed checking his phone every 30 seconds if he ain't counting on notifications.

Think that's just a generational thing. That electric slide sing was out long before those.

I don't ever remember the electric slide song being that popular. In Detroit it was replaced by Stevie Wonder - My Eyes Don't Cry No More, I guess like Candy around your area. But I still know the song when I hear it. I wonder if it's a Caribbean related thing. The video always gave me those kind of vibes.

Maybe it's an age thing with the Electric Slide song :ehh: Bc that joint used to ring off at weddings and reunions in the 80s / 90s. I'm sure I've got some years on a good portion of the brehs in this thread :flabbynsick:

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
THERE IS ONLY ONE ELECTRIC SLIDE!!!!!!! The man who invented the DANCE, said he invented it in 1976

THERE IS ONLY ONE ELECTRIC BOOGIE!!!!!!! The woman and man who invented the SONG, said they invented it in 1982

So it seems the dance was out first, and then it was done during that song and it blew up. So that's why it's done to so many songs. But there's truly only one time it matches up with THIS song, and it becomes "The Electric Slide" DANCE to "The Electric Boogie"

I'm 44, so I was around for the electric slide song, it's just that Stevie quickly surpassed that song as the official Detroit hustle song. Soon as them horns start, people running to the floor faster than "Back dat ass up". Been that way since I was a kid.

That’s the funny part is I’ve seen people electric slide to Before I Let Go than the actual Electric Slide song.. I think the song just aged itself out
