I wouldn't put it past him. Marc really gets a kick out of intellectually shytting on his cohosts. A few pods back Marc made a joke that he hurt his rotator cuff "carrying y'all" (the rest of the cast). He came back and apologized and said he felt horrible for saying that but that Ian called and told him it was great. I wouldn't doubt if Joe/Ian TOLD Marc to start going in like that to either humble or motivate his cast.

Anybody remember when Marc first joined and they were talking about Dr. Umar coming back. Marc told Ish "Its alright. you don't have to face him alone. Big Homey's here now"

There were scientists of that time who said that dumb shyt about Black people's intelligence. And they were later proven to be wrong.

And all that Marc said didn't disprove or discount what Ish said.

if at some point in history some bozos thought they could heal illnesses by drinking a virgin's spit and they were considered scientists in their time - how is it not moronic to extrapolate from that that the same applies now (contextually - in terms of scientific method) or use it as a parallel for something like let's say - flat earth?

It's a really dumb position to take - that holds no relevance to/in any possible conversation

Phrenology relies on the dumb ass premise that skull had different organs in it, which was something that had already been understood not to be true; brain is a brain. Doubling down and casting skulls and then trying to interpret them through size and shape

Yup. It's the same as how people would find one doctor to say Covid was a hoax while 200 doctors would say that person was an idiot. Imagine 100 years from now people quoting that one doctor saying "doctors at the time said it was a hoax".

Yea, I was thinking that. When Marc told the story about how his wife said he would show up in a mink. Im like, that sounds like the older drug dealers picking up girls at high school a lot of nikkas know about. I think he tried to clean it up saying he was 19, but I dont believe that.

This is why he's out of his depth and should stop speaking on all things social, political and science related. He doesn't know any better and it's why him and Ice think scientific theory is the same as a regular theory. He should stick to being the finance EYL guy, that's his lane.

There’s a huge difference between barbershop arguments and academic debates, ish is completely lost on the latter. You actually need to do research in order to argue academically not go off word of mouth or how you feel.

The fact that he said he would argue with Neil Degrasse about this…I really hope joe wouldn’t do that to him. Whats funny though is Marc is probably just as intelligent in this field of social studies and black history as NDT is with science. If there’s anyone you should just listen to about stuff like phrenology its MLH

He's more interested in winning an argument and being right than he is in being factual or in learning. I think the big thing to take away from this is, not that ish is particularly stubborn or dumb but he’s insecure. He got gassed as being the “smart one” on the pod so anytime someone challenges him he feels like he has to stand his ground no matter what.

If Marc was just a one-time guest on the show Ish probably wouldn’t feel as compelled to argue him down but since he’s now a cast mate he feels like he’s in competition with him. He probably reads all the comments and now he’s starting to feel even more at odds with Marc being there.
