I'm Mal's age and I've been mad disappointed by a woman, but never sad/crying/heartbroken ever. So i kinda feel where mal is coming from, I'll check out emotionally the second I see something I don't like, ore feel like it's not going my way, so by the time it falls apart I don't care cause I decided she wasn't it weeks/months before hand.
I've honestly never been "caught slippin" emotionally. If the signs were there, and I saw them, I'd only ever be mad at my self for not peeping game and adjusting my own expectations. It's probably weird compartmentalizing for my own self preservation, but it's worked so IDK

Hearing that talk yesterday was def me talking to my best friend. Never too late but def salute to u. Also. For u to be so protective of ur feelings. I feel like u been hurt in some kind of way before. Maybe not on some relationship type shyt or maybe not even by a chick at all. Coulda been a friend or a family member or whatever. shyt, sometimes you don't even gotta go through shyt yourself you can be that was cause you've observed others relationships, and I know this cause that's what happened to me. I remember when we were like 15/16 and I saw my boy got did dirty. She was close with his family and all that too smh. And she just cheated on him and bushed him for a more "popular" guy. I had never been in a relationship at that time but from then I knew that these bytches ain't shyt.
So imagine Mal being around Roc a fella from young. He's seen it all, groupies, trifling hoes...everything. So I don't blame him
