I don’t know the spotify #s...only the youtube #s...JRE has 8M+ subscribers...JBP has 800k+ but not sure if that’s a good measuring stick...I’d like to know how much spotify subscribers each has tho...I think JBP was the #1 podcast on spotify for a minute but no specific #s were put out...JRE joining spotify knocked JBP down to a very distant #2 tho

Budden needs to get himself out of the damn living room and into a proper studio, get better cameras, bring in famous and interesting hip hop and non hip hop figures to talk with.
He’ll triple his value immediately.
the “coziness” of the living room is just fine...but other opinions/voices are needed...having celebrity guests on his show would be dope...and different ONLY if they’re there to partake in the fukkery and have fun...the problem tho is a lot of artists will only want to come up there to promote something or sit around and be “too cool for school” and not say anything that can be deemed offensive or alienate their fans...it’d be fun tho to see artists in a different light...just chilling and cracking jokes but most of them be mad stiff when they go up there and too preoccupied w/ their image which I guess I understand...they have to protect their brand and not gonna risk that just to make joe’s show more entertaining...it would be fun tho

The Joe Rogan thing there is no comparison because he started the podcast in 2009 and so much has happened that doesn’t get discussed like how Google that owns YouTube started censoring YouTube so much and their bots would take videos down so fast, also the crossover appeal of it is massive. Joe Rogan also used to do the show live.
I don't think Joe should switch to celebrity interviews, it would ruin the essence of the podcast. The podcast probably has a ceiling because of no interviews, but I think it would turn a majority of his core base off.
Even then the Spotify numbers aren’t a good measurement because the JBP is the only podcast that you have to listen to on Spotify.
I want to know if the JBP is getting bigger because they don’t do anything to attract new listeners

I think Joe knows this hence why he has his other show to interview rappers etc.
They maybe need a regular guest, someone that comes on monthly but isn't part of the 4 but then that comes with a salary I guess.
The interview show he does on YouTube is awful. I’ve never seen an interviewer as unprepared as Joe.

This is true, so either he cleans that up or adds more guests to the podcast. But when they have guests on it takes away from the natural flow of the show as they will dikk ride (naturally) and then not discuss enough topics.
