To me it sounds like they have something on the table already and are giving spotify notice to do right by them. Joe is dumb but you would be foolish to think that other streaming services are not talking to them and throwing offers their way.

I dunno, it's just not smart.. what if Tidal's(or whoever we assume is throwing offers) money starts getting low during this pandemic shyt and they withdraw their offer?
Now they've pissed spotify off and that's gonna only drive the worth of the pod down to them

Yeah, the constant contract talks A: aren't all that entertaining or funny, and B: probably aren't the best idea while currently negotiating a new deal.

It's almost like he didn't learn anything from how he handled any of his previous contractual situations. Having leverage without being a good partner in negotiations typically doesn't mean much of anything.

The way it sounded to me at least, is that they have big offers from elsewhere, and they are taunting Spotify to either match that offer or exceed it

Of course none of us know shyt about shyt, but I doubt they would be talking so spicy without other offers already on the table.
