We know Mal ain't the deepest thinker. I think part of what makes The Wire great is that it can be appreciated on surface level. But what makes it the GOAT TV show to me is that when looking more in depth at it and all the different stories it is telling and the way it is laying out how people are failed by all these institutions without being heavy handed about it (minus the newspaper shyt) and it just takes it to a whole other level. And you know damn well Mal ain't able to look that deep in to it.

Facts. The layered writing of the Wire is what separates it from other shows, and how deep their character development is. The stories are so detailed and interconnect so deeply. I honestly don't think they're comparable.
