he's a narcissist. i know that word gets thrown around a lot in society, but if you understand the seriousness of the condition... there's a limit to how much a narcissist can invest in anyone or anything other than themselves.
The central problem to all of this is that Joe cares more about his business than his friends. This isn't the first time he's shown this. Some will take issue with that and some won't but that's how it is.
The result of this might be Rory staying and Mal leaving (and replacing him with Ish/Ice), which honestly would be ideal for me.

I don’t care if it’s his brother or not, whether you think he’s boring or not Mal has been certified for a minute now.He has relationships and connections w/ artists all across the industry like Saint Jhn and Griselda.
I’m not sayin Mal manages acts or is making music, but he has relationships and the respect of a lot of people across music and sports. Internet nerds obsess over stats like first week numbers and what so and so is doing for a career, and if they put it on IG, when the reality is there’s a lot of currency in simply being a person people like and respect, and those relationships usually pay dividends. It’s why they can call up Julius Randle on the fly. Joe just admitted on this damn pod that he relied on Mal for years to help him patch things up w/ Jay-Z.
It’s easy for you to not understand any of this, because your post count makes it very clear that you don’t maintain many relationships in your actual life.
