Joe my guy. But the shyt he pulled with Rory is a big lol

Rory was clearly joking about fighting

I been listening to the pod since day 1. Rory only joked like that because Joe has threatened to fight everyone on the pod lol. One of the running gags is Joe getting up in Mal face telling him we gon fight lol

I think comments had Joe aggy by saying Rory could whoop his ass.

only so many times you can “joke” about throwing hands tho.

there is truth in all humor

When Joe looked at Rory and Mal with a straight face and told them that he doesn’t owe them respect as friends it literally left me like :gucci:

Like i know this is who he always been but it still blew my mind he said that. And what got me even more mindblown is how they just continued to sit there after.

Mal still not grasping why Joe continued the show without them left me :pachaha: cause he still don’t get it.

This was an interesting episode to listen to but I can tell their relationship will never be the same.

In reading the YT comments, and some comments in here...I'm trying to figure out why Joe didn't just outright say "I'm the boss. This is my show and business. You guys are my employees." or something to that extent...

Because he was handling this (at least the audio we heard) with kid gloves. I think outright saying those two sentences publicly would make everything crystal clear, but doing so would be like adding gasoline to a burning fire and probably end their relationship permanently.

Only judging by their interaction on the pod and what they say publicly, Joe/Mal/Rory have been toxic for each other work wise for a while. Joe seems to be a shytty friend, but he’s the talent and puts the business/product above all else. He gives zero fukks about feelings and is a terrible communicator (on the pod) which makes him come off as even more of an a$$hole.

Mal has principles and consistently stands on what he feels is “real” and “right” which is commendable, but seems to gives zero fukks about the “business” aspect of the pod as evidenced by him saying fukk them contracts and expecting everything to stop until his/Rory’s issues were resolved. He feels like this shyt should be run as a group when it’s obvious Joe is the boss and has final say.

Rory seems to be out of this podding shyt altogether but doesn’t have a better situation to move onto yet. He definitely has some outside shyt going on that he has to figure out but he’s been bringing the pod down for a while. I hope his shyt gets better soon.

I think Parks has this shyt all figured out. Joe is the boss, I’m a worker and as long as the checks clear as contractually agreed upon (between my lawyers and Joe’s representatives) I’m good. It’s grounded/logical and how I would be approaching this situation too.

The money isn’t flowing in the same. On top of Joe skimming off the top and not sharing in the Patreon profits.

Joe said nobody is making less money. It's confirmed he's not sharing the Patreon? Honestly, if Joe is paying the expenses he should get a lion's share of the profits.

Unrelated though, I'm not understanding the business model with the podcast and the network. It's none of my business either way, but it's a weird dynamic

They keep echoing the money is the same, and that very well could be true. I think the issue was that there was supposed to be a lot more money for the next contract. Joe opted to keep things near the same for the future benefit for the himself/the network.

‘multi million dollar organisation’ :heh:

Whats the harm in missing an episode? Does Joe need the youtube money that bad lol
I don’t know you, but your speaking like someone who has never held any authority or has been in a position to hire or fire . To expand that , his platform feeds families . Nah bro, you keep that going, especially when your are the network .

They may not be making less than before, but Joe is making more. I get it, they’re employees imbut I’m sure it stings when you see Joe’s lifestyle change while there’s are the same (and there was potentially millions of dollars on the table).

Rory and Mal mentioned business a lot, the whole respect thing is a by product of the money looking funny. Joe blindsided them with the Patreon deal so I definitely believe he’s making money on the backend with them.

I really don’t understand his model either especially since he claims to hate ads. It can’t just be based on all YT views. I think the goal is to show sponsors their audience/viewership and broker a deal for sponsorship shoutouts or product placement
