May be an unpopular opinion but this is why I’ve always been skeptical of all the shyt dudes like Joe push when they rail against how the industry is unfair to artists.

Even more than that, they should’ve known what they got into following a megalomaniac. They let him spout his “for the creators” bullshyt when they should’ve strong armed him into taking a deal. Now they have nothing.

Rory started the AK shyt though... He was salty as fukk that AK was on Complex with Joe.Damn I know Rory like thisright now.
He was kind of like a lil puppy following Joe around and would ride with him on whatever.
The AK shyt really got to him and Joe being cool with AK fukked with Rory.
Yeah Mal has his code and principles or whatever, but on a strictly business tip, dude sounded like a idiot when they came back.
In one sentence say “it’s not about money, fukk the contract, I can get money anywhere” and the next sentence say “it’s about respect and transparency, why we not seeing this, why we not seeing that?

Im about to listen to the pod, but it's funny how things can change re: Rory and Mal. They were popping champagne when they signed that Spotify deal. A little while down the road, Joe is cussing them out lol. Rory had the podcast, a job in the industry, and he had Dussepalooza. Not sure what else Mal had going, but Rory quit his job lol! Dussepalooza is done out here! shyt got real real quick lol

Mal really hurt Joe cause he wasn’t being a yes man when he told him what he did to Rory was messed up (which is was). I understand Joe should’ve made it abundantly clear to Mal and Rory he was there boss, but Joe wants to simultaneously play boss and friend to his own benefit. Mal is, in his own right, a moron as well. He should’ve known Joe had the right to tell Rory to sit out by now, but I’m not mad at him for standing up for another employee because how Joe went about telling Rory not to come in wasn’t professional if it really was on that exclamation point IPhone emoji shyt. Joe was in his feelings as a friend when he went at Mal, not as a boss. That friendship is over
