the irony is they shouldve took their own advice

I think Rory / Mal can get a similar bag @ barstool or really any other platform looking for content. Barstool would like to get somethin like a mal / rory podcast and they already have other podcasts bigger than the joe budden podcast. Unlike Joe, barstool has actually proven they know how to build a network of podcasts.

Joe looked at them as employees providing content, and compensated them accordingly. other platforms will look at them the same. If ownership is off the table either way who cares? Difference is these are ACTUAL platforms. Joe has a podcast (that rory and mal helped build) that he thinks he can turn into a network

Joe is getting his actual money from revolt and ventures outside of this podcast. I think some of yall confuse that w/ him caking off the podcast or his ‘network’ :mjlol: I respected the Patreon move cause Joe got actual equity In a company valued over a Billie (can relate). But if we’re being real, Spotify era was the most they’ve made off the podcast in terms of actual $

Joe didnt say no tho

he did the audit and saw they were actually overpaid

I thought he did an audit, he didn't break open the books for them to see the podcasts finances which is what I thought they asked for.

Him now saying that they're overpaid means what exactly?

I'll put it to you this way.

The Golden State Warriors are now worth $4.7 bilion.

Would Steph Curry be outta line if he asked for equity in the team once he was done playing?
Who is steph curry in this situation??

Rory??

Mal??

Which one of them is breaking pod records on a consistent basis?

Employees that are seen as important get equity all time at the most successful companies. The founder keeps majority ownership but it is normal for equity is normally shared to keep people loyal and motivated. Random tesla employees have gotten rich and i know private companies that split profits according to equity.

you're making it sound like equity is easily attainable. true equity (not some shares that get thrown around) is not easily attained at all.

like you said, it's reserved for employees who are deemed important. that is not a large group of people. and then the biggest/best equity packages are normally reserved for the most important employees. so even within that already small group, there's a huge difference between employees who get handed 10,000 stock options, and the most essential employees who get 60-75,000 restricted stock units that vest on a faster timeline.

and even those units pale in comparison to what the CEO receives.

then, when equity IS more attainable, it's usually awarded to compensate for the company paying at a lower scale than industry standard. so you're trading money upfront for (potentially) more money in the long-term. but you have to stay with that company 2-4 years to collect. and even THEN, if you leave you have to buy that stock from the company in order to keep it. they don't just give it to you.

equity is not thrown around. like everything else in corporate it is a negotiating point, and you get what you negotiate for yourself.

Joe is the owner in the situation. He's Joe Lacob (and Steph Curry). It's on Rory and Mal to quantify how important they are to his pod (I'm not saying they're Steph Curry, but if they feel they're a big reason as to why JBP can command the kind of money he was turning down, then they can ask if they think they're being done wrong. Joe's in the right to be honest, but it makes everything he has said about his own trials and tribulations worthless. Joe will never take a step back and realize that he was Rory & Mal to all these companies he was dealing with. He'll continue to think he was worth more, the way Rory & Mal do now.)

This clip of Budden firing them is hilarious. That acting fake offended to get yourself out of a jam shyt still works out here?? Like when your girl asks to check your inbox or phone or sumn and you're like "FOH! If you don't trust me then why are you here? You disrespecting me." You only act like that when you know you been talking to bytches, lol. Budden don't wanna show these dikkheads the books cause he's making way more off the podcast than they think, lol. That's fukked up and grimy...but it's business, doesn't mean he still don't love yall as friends,.

Them whiteboys cosigning every sound he makes is hilarious too, it's actually refreshing seeing a black man have these white folk kissing the ring like this, they don't wanna be the next to get 86'd. Salute to f'n Budden, bro is a piece of a shyt who can convince you he's a piece of gold with his talk game, :salute:
