Listening to parts of the pod again, Joe doesn't come off that wrong.

You read between the lines and Joe basically saying Rory is a culture vulture hanger-on, who should be grateful Joe put him on.

From my recollection, Rory wasn't one of the founders of Dussepalooza. He came in later.

I disagree. Joe isn’t complex or a record label. He’s their friend. If Savon bytched about money i doubt he’d be hurt or offended like this. If I’m your mans and you come to me about accounting, your telling me you don’t trust me. I don’t know how I’m supposed to keep moving with you that way. ESPECIALLY if I’ve bent over backwards to keep you solid.

He has a loose interpretation of what "friend" is.

But like everyone who is still kinda cool with Joe would say, they'd say that's who he is and that's who he's always been. Parks is one of those people who understands the terms and conditions of dealing with Joe. Rory and Mal didn't (which in turn makes Joe look like a hypocrite for crying about his own business conflicts)

Your point was poorly thought out and doesn’t make sense. Based on this episode, it appears it took him years to realize what Rory truly is, from his perspective. Why would he feel this way during the early episodes , when he didn’t know him well enough?

There's nothing wrong with what Joe said, it's just phony coming from someone who led everyone to believe that him and Rory were good friends.

I don't think Rory came in on some snake shyt either, he's not wrong for asking for equity in something he feels he helped build just like Joe isn't wrong for not giving up equity to people he doesn't feel deserve it. My problem is the framing of the relationship as some shady culture vulture shyt was foul on Joe's part. Especially the showing up to the hospital and having Rory's nephews do the drops being framed as some ulterior motive shyt is extra foul.

I don’t see why Joe’s perspective of their relationship should be a problem to another man. You’re stating what you think and don’t know any of these people personally. It’s very possible that after years of being around him, he reevaluated their relationship and came to that conclusion.
