I felt that way until ice and ish came thru and the fanbase didn’t give a fukk no more. Everyone hates mal and people realized they can do without Rory(even tho he’s decent). The new crew just ain’t industry and willing to give real opinions. Mals idiot tho, who hates vaccines and can’t explain why, loved trump.

rory was decent like I said, but the base will move on, half the people were pissed when they came back

same thing happened with million dollars worth of game with gillie. They got bigger after dev left.
I think Ice and Ish add value but as the friends you didn't know about, not as the main pillars of the brand. Rory and Mal were at brunches with Jay Z and shyt. They could call famous people based on personal conenctions that had nothing to do with Joe. Hell Joe was probably using them to get closer to Jay's circle to keep it buck.

In comparision one of Ice or Ish works at the foot locker or some shyt today. Their appeal can grow but it would be a slow process.

I’m looking at this from a startup perspective: Mal, Rory, and even Parks not having a part of the ownership stake is absolutely insane when you think of how long they’ve been working on it. Not saying they need just as much as Joe or even half. Just some ownership. The fact that they don’t speaks to the selfishness and narcissism of Joe.

After years of working with no ownership, he really expected their effort and buy in to match his? That’s insane. That’s why startups have vested equity. It gives the people incentive to work hard cause they know at a certain point it will be partially there’s.

And while Mal and Rory are replaceable, being replaceable doesn’t erase being owed what you help build. There are startups that go big every year that end up ousting there founders, founding staff, and CEO and replacing them but that doesn’t erase the equity and the fact they created something.

Surprisingly, the person who looks the worst out of all this is Parks. He came off has pathetic. All that dude cares about is who cuts the check

I'm caught up.

First off, Parks is a dikk rider, a coward, a yes-man...lacks integrity. He is fake as fukk. shyts on them publicly then says 'I love Rory...love Mal.' Worst type of person. I can't express how much I hate this type of person.

Joe Budden clearly has issues. Any of his rap fans shouldn't be surprised at this based on his previous actions against labels and label heads. Whether he is right or wrong about the firing doesn't concern me, but the emotional way he handles things... come on Joe, show some growth. Having said that, one thing that sticks with me is that he should've checked Akademiks for disrespecting Rory and Mal (while they were all still 'friends').

I don't know what's going on with Rory and Mal but I am eager to hear their side of the story. I can't imagine that they would throw this all away for nothing. Making 6-figures and trashing it? There has to be more to the story.

For all 4 of them to continually say 'Its not about money' when it clearly is about money was disappointing. They were either lying to us (which is highly disrespectful) or they greatly misunderstood the situation. Accounting = Money. I never heard of an accountant who deals in friendship or respect.

Anyways, I'm out. Parks is insufferable, Joe needs help and I'm not interested in hearing Ish and Ice have conversations like they are in their early to mid 20s. That shyt is stale. In my opinion, Joe should go the Rogan route and make it a guest based show since he is incapable on maintaining long term relationships (with a few exceptions). Even then, I wouldn't listen to it since Parks is involved.
Everytime he scorches earth the sensitive fans say they’re out, then when he makes another successful venture they’re back on the wagon

There is. The public image of a his network is at stake. If he just did a show with parks and acted like nothing happened, or just stated “mal and Rory” won’t be on the show for the foreseeable future, especially when most of the Internet took their side last time shyt popped off, he’d lose a lot of credibility and could lose a lot of his audience. Giving his full side of the story is necessary to go on.

WTF are you talking about?

If this is a business; release a statement and KIM.

Take a week or off or something. This shyt is unprofessional and ghetto.

Again, this isn't about how I "side with," I actually don't care, this is about the principle of it.

I think it’s deeper than that. Joe seemed fine with them not being useful (his words) as long as they weren’t fukking up the pod (his opinion). As soon as their shyt affected the bigger picture it’s time for them to go.

Because it’s painfully obvious now that he never saw them as creatives. If everything he said is true, he treated them as such the whole way thorough:
  • Never gave them ownership and continued to tell them no every time they brought it up
  • Never brought them in on negotiations
  • Was responsible for funding the endeavor and paying the crew
  • Gave them worker/employee contracts
  • Had the final say on all things related to the pod and didn’t run shyt by them
  • Didn’t want to show the books
  • Etc….
For me, if somebody treated me like that, I already know what it is. Doesn’t have to even get contentious. Either I’m gonna find a better situation elsewhere or I’m going to position myself in that situation to make sure it’s as beneficial as possible to me.
Yea but Joe had them thinking that they weren't workers. When he was going on his rants, he acted like the Joe Budden Podcast was all three of them. When it's only Joe. Should have told them what it was from jump.

He had all these rants about ownership and how spotify is fukking "us" and not respecting us when he was talking about himself. Them nikkas fukked up tho, they should have branched out and do their own thing. But it looks like if they did, it would have been under the JPB umbrella. Nikka signed them to a 360 :dead: the irony

This nikka Joe asked them "do you trust me to make good decisions" basically during that Spotify rant...

I dont see how anyone can take him seriously when so much of what he says is bullshyt and manipulation.

This is it for me. It’s a catch 22 once Joe expects these guys to go the extra mile, create extra shows, bankroll this and that before they talk ownership. But those are the exact type of actions you don’t do if you don’t own a single piece of whatever venture you’re in.

This is 100% how startups work. And these startups are worth way more than Joe’s ‘network’ and they pass out equity to way more people than everybody in park’s little recording den. It’s the same reason you can go to a big company and hide out for 8 years, but at a startup people notice if you’re gone for 8 days.

If you don’t wanna give Savon, Alex etc. equity then that’s fair, but the on mic talent deserves less than 10% equity, considering they’ve both been there since everyday struggle. The valuation gain from then to now on the podcast is nuts.

And really I’m surprised Parks hasn’t wanted any equity seeing how he owns the studio and equipment that they use. But after seein his dikk suckin lips on the last two pods it kinda makes sense. If he just wants a check I can respect that, especially when he has other lines of business he makes bread off of.

That's a disingenuous comparison. The Breakfast Club is owned by a major broadcasting entity. A podcast is some shyt you can create with a mic and your boys. Yall really acting like they weren't there for the pod's biggest growth period.
There’s always an excuse for something

Some people falling for it tho

Did you know Schulz gave Alex a percentage of Flagrant 2 podcast? He ain’t have to do it. But everybody you see contributing regularly on there got a piece of the pod. And Flagrant2 is worth near just as much JPB and growing.

Another guess of mine would be that Joe is stretched a little thin with growing his ‘network’.

Thinking of the two podcasts he put together w/ the birds then the one w/ Karen Civil. They aren’t making money yet but there are real startup costs to getting those up and running. Joe is likely bankrolling those. So at this specific time when he’s doin all that he probably looks at rory and mal like they’re nuts right now for even asking for shyt

Exactly. You understand this game. I see too many people talking about this who don’t know how the equity game works. Parks just showed his ambitiouslessness. He should be right there with Rory and Mal trying to look at the books. At the end of the day there’s nothing wrong with being an employee but not when you’re at the grown level of something like this. That’s negligence and stupidity and one day he’s gonna look back and hate himself for it.

Let’s say Joe ends up getting the Bill Simmons bag, he’s crazy enough to pocket 90 out of the 100 mil and divvy up the 10 mill among everyone else:dead:. Better believe all those Yes Men would get  quick
