Joe Budden Apologizes to Olivia Dope Following Sexual Harassment Allegation

In a statement issued Tuesday, May 18th, Budden responded: “As a podcaster, it is my job to address topics and create dialogue around them. During the conversation on the See, The Thing Is podcast I didn’t handle the topics with the sensitivity they deserved. I recognize my words and power in that situation created an upsetting environment for Olivia. Upon reflection, both the network and I take accountability for this.”

He continued: “I apologize sincerely to Olivia, her former co-hosts, our staff, and the public. In an effort to not further any trauma, the episode will be removed from all platforms. We support all women’s rights to feel comfortable and protected in the workplace. We fell short of that in this instance. We support Olivia in her quest to heal, applaud her for finding the strength to share her experience, and wish her the best in all her future endeavors. I am taking the time to listen and learn; we have already begun to make the necessary changes to ensure this is a safe environment for all moving forward. We at the network endeavor to continue to elevate Black women’s voices and create opportunities to have constructive conversations to impact change.”

Smooth…. He is gonna skate past some bullshyt again isn't he?

Interesting. I think this one can put a dent in his business. I don't recall an apology for past shyt....time will reveal. Either way, I stopped watching the YT vids a long time ago, and I just unsubscribed. I'll catch the SoundCloud or Google Podcast links for this joint if I decide to keep listening :yeshrug:

that apology was solid.

he'll be aight, JBN might survive

All due respect to Olivia and her timing but the Genie was already out of the bottle with her exit and claims of harassment.

Her Statements wasnt breaking news, it was simply piling on and taking an opportunity surrounding the noise at JBP.

Outside of self destruction or incriminating circumstances the content will determine Joe’s success. Knowing Joe he will get to the content and be up again.

Let’s be honest

Joe dialog with shorty was no worse than Cthagod telling bytches he wants to suck farts out their butt and smelling chairs when they stand up

Do I think they meant any harm with their actions? Not really.. more so trying to make salacious dialog and moments for their shows..

Does that justify it? Well of course it doesn’t. He has to eat that now, and so will charla when the women he degraded are ready to capitalize on those moments..

But do I think shorty was in danger of being assaulted or anything like that? Not really

Joe still a scumbag though. His current misery is hilarious to me

Joe biggest issue is, he talks so much that he forgets what he actually says from one moment to the other.

'Fukk contracts, I don't live by the contract'
'It's in the contract, so that's how It is'

Mal really been listening the whole time. He been seeing Joes lies and allowed Joe to lie long enough until he exposed himself.

Sad that one moment Joe can say things like 'Fukk the money, the friendship is more important' yet he never wanted them to make the money they were meant to.

Greed is a motherfukker.
He has been a broke Z list celebrity for almost 20 years so I can understand why he wants to finally live the celebrity lifestyle and be rich :yeshrug:

Agree w/ you that the intent isn’t always as malicious as what people make it out to be, but it’s a huge difference because whoever charlamagne said that to didn’t work for him (I assume).

Putting all these actions in the context of a boss doing this to one of his employees is what makes this all so nasty. It doesn’t have to be sexual assault or feel like it might result in that, it’s really just enough that he created a work environment where he made a woman feel sexually uncomfortable. Especially w/ all that boss talk he does, it isn’t sexual assault but it is sexual harassment, and regardless of the word it’s just nasty and it’s clown shyt.
