It is the same. Music is the most passive form of entertainment. It doesn’t take effort to find new music.

I think it’s totally normal for people to not be big fans of music just fans of an era of music that coincides with their coming of age years
I agree but disagree. It doesn’t take effort to find new music, but it does take a lot of effort to find GOOD music, or the music you’re looking for.

It takes no effort to find music you like in2021

you have a plethora of playlist and algorithms that will give you an infinite amount of artist in the same range of your favorites

now if you’re looking for Nas Illmatic deluxe then see my original point

That’s fine but this convo is about people not listening to any new music

listening to new genres is a great thing.

but most of the sentiment here is the “stuck in 90s” mindset

Thats cap. I consider myself a casual listener at best. I “love” and “mark” all the songs I do actually like, just so the algorithms can do their job. I’m saying that to say, these playlists are still ass. Even the ones specially built and recommended for me are gonna get skipped 75% of the time.

Listening to new music is not passive at all. It’s active as hell. You have to connect with it in someway before it can become passive. The passivity comes with the familiarity. “This is my jam.” “Here come my favorite part”

Most people listen to music to illicit an emotion. Whether to make them happy, sad, want to dance, nod their head, blow off steam, get pumped whatever. How do you do that without knowing what the music you’re listening even will illicit?

Ish is a much needed change of pace. I like that he doesn’t let Joe get his bullshyt off and keep going. That CTG point Joe was trying to make had to be refuted in real time.
I hope that last.

Joe isn't the type of dude who likes being constantly corrected and called out for his bullshyt. He doesn't even let conversations he's uncomfortable with get off the ground.

These guys could've easily found and played the Eboni K Williams clip if they wanted the true context instead of Joe assuming, being vague, not quoting properly and leaving it to Ish to try to put pieces together.

It was from her "Holding Court" podcast, not an interview she did. She's a lawyer and her podcast touches on legal issues around the industry and in the news. She was just touching on Joe's news after the Rory/Mal fallout, since it's a big podcast and talked about what it could mean from a legal standpoint.

Anybody with a brain would think that there's a chance Joe did his friends dirty, and at the end she mentioned her personal thought on how Joe used to call her for some game. So down the road when she was trying to call him for some game on the podcast space he seemingly ghosted her, and it seems like he may have done that because she signed on with Cthagod's Black Effect podcast network.

Not sure what you were listening to, but Joe said all that after Ish tried to mumble through what he guessed happened. Joe said he didn't feel like she took a shot at him, but didn't like the narrative she was painting that he "professionally ghosted" her for signing a deal with CTG. He said he's never cut someone off from them doing a deal with someone else....

Also said that since she's a married woman, he wanted to be respectful so he never randomly calls her outside of work. And that he didn't know her before he hired her for the last gig, so their relationship was purely professional. It happened, it was great, and he would work with her again.

Joe was being disingenuous.

He said he didn't feel like she took a shot at him right before briefly touching on his theory that this was all some long term attempt at a smear campaign by Charlemagne, that involved ebony k, rory and mal, Olivia dope, marissa, and whoever else name that was edited out.

One of them isn't being honest. Joe said they had no relationship outside of work, and he was respecting her marriage. Ebony k said they would speak outside of work, they had talked about starting a podcast on Joe's network and Joe use to hit her up for advice as a lawyer, then he ghosted as soon as she got a deal with Charlemagne. Joe already ghosted marissa for her business relationships so he's full of shyt about not cutting people off over business.

Almost positive it was Scottie Beam’s name that was edited out.

And i agree Joe being two faced. He’s mad she took the deal with CTG.
