Appreciate it bro. And big facts. I always hated that term, it's meant to undermine and discredit people from being paid livable wages. I've never understood common folks desire to defend these billionaires, using their talking points, to protect them from having to come off some of their money in order to pay their employees reasonable wages.

Same bruh. I don't understand why a bunch of poor southern yokels banded together to elect a NY "Billionaire", after decades of Republicans doing nothing to get them out the swamp. I can only assume those inbred weirdos are happy being toothless, cousin fukking hillbillies :scusthov:. Or they just really hate women (Hillary) :childplease:. Or shared racism is more important than anything else :picard:. Or all 3 :merchant:

I worked at Burger King in high school earning $5+ an hour.
If you’re not a supervisor position in a fast food job, it’s a high school job

You working at Burger King doesn't make your argument that "it's a High school job" stronger, cool resume note, but irrelevant to this discussion. And like I stated, someone has to work those hours during the middle of the day, and it can't be "High School" students, it's grown adults. So no, it's not a "High School" job, it's a JOB, and people should be paid a livable wage doing it. Simple. Every job has a function in society.

Yeah a college student should be working those shifts during the day.

I hope your content with whopper meals being $15 and the staff being replaced with machines :manny:

Regular grown adults work those jobs, breh.

I'm vegan, don't care about the price of Whooper meals lol. But to your point, inflation has been going up at a ridiculous rate regardless. Lol. Minimum Wage has barely risen in the last 30 years, and inflation has skyrocketed out of orbit. Everything is going up anyway.

Ok so you cool with convenient store prices and the fast food industry prices going up just to offset unqualified people getting paid more

Becky G is HUGE.

Rory actually doing a good job promoing them.

This is my first time actually seeing the Oranges and it was off the strength of Becky's recognizability.

That white guy in the group too unattractive. Might hold them back. The black girl has to really shine to overcome that

they going more for some upbeat Khruangbin shyt if you’re up on them. Cool indie background music type band that’s pretty popular. attractiveness ain’t as important as the image, vibe and live show for what they’re doing. Been on them since Juice Vol 1. they’re gonna eat.

it actually cracks me tf up that Rory is their manager cause I was wondering for the longest who was behind them

This is a ridiculous stance. You don’t have to have some crazy increase in prices. What makes them unqualified? So someone who works a job full time doesn’t deserve to be able to afford an apartment? You’re out of touch.

It seems like the price goes up regardless.

I swear to God I use to be able to get a combo from a fast food spot for around $6 bucks. That shyt has doubled in price over the last 10 years, but employee wages stayed relatively the same up until recently.

Makes no sense that a place like in n out can pay a living wage while selling higher quality food for cheaper than a Mc Donald's big Mac combo, but I'm supposed to believe that none of these huge chains can figure it out?

I'm not buying it breh.

The two words that explain what you're asking about are profit margins.

That's really it. Larger companies' primary focus above all else is providing significant value to shareholders. Not providing a quality product or experience, or truly looking out for their workforce, but providing value to shareholders.

That's a terrible argument for why you shouldn't increase salary lol

First off, I don't even know what a "high school" job is. High School kids are in school from 8:30-3:00. So unless these fast food places are gonna shutdown for 6 and a half hours in the middle of the day, they're gonna need people to work them hours. And if they are working those hours, they need to be paid a livable wage. Every job in a society serves an important function that allows everything to run smoothly, and the entire society collapses if one group of workers decided to not do it. Regardless of how you feel about the skill of the labor (Because I know people who make high 5 figure, low 6 figure salaries that literally do nothing all day), they are needed and should be paid enough to sustain a reasonable life. Nobody working 40 hours a week+ should be stressing over bills.

These other jobs that people need degrees/schooling for have way higher earning potential, and not to mention, people have lifelong goals and desires to enter into fields that go way beyond their initial starting salary. And everybody is not gonna wanna work a fast food job/cashier type job. You think people who have aspirations of getting into teaching, nursing, becoming doctors, lawyers, engineers, social workers, etc... are just gonna give up their dreams to work at McDonalds because they have a 40K salary lol? Come on bro.

What a post.

Clap for him.
