The only reason I like the verzuz talk is the same reason I hate it: it's always wrong, it's always misleading/misinformed, and it's funny as fucc watching them walk their takes back.

This is the problem when you have an all tri-state podcast/radio show. When you talk to a hip hop platform based in Atlanta or Los Angeles, they can at least acknowledge that some of their hot shyt was some bullshyt in hindsight. I think Joe and them would be sad to find out how underwhelming Puff and 50 (50 especially) would fare.

You can even make an argument that the 50 phenomenon was an embarrassment and net-negative to hip hop as a whole. I would say the same about even early Eminem. In 2021, that shyt is not going to hit.

TI was on FIRE in Northwest Ohio for fucc sake, pre Rubberband Man. The South and Midwest already arrived by Summer 2002.

nikka YES they did because they got they big breaks out here. Who gave Jeezy his first big industry look? FAB cause of the BMF connection. Who gave Jeezy his first real major look? PUFF wit the Boyz In The Hood Bad Boy South shyt. Nelly LITERALLY had to go to Harlem to blow up. Mase and Cardan had to help him. AND that nikka got that Air Force One shyt from seeing NYC nikkas doin it when he was out here. T.I got a lot of his first big industry looks from NY rappers. Dating back to his first album. One of his biggest singles from that first joint featured Foxy Brown. And he became damn near an honorary Dipset member. Wayne’s solo career jumped thru the roof after fukkin wit the Dips heavy and jackin they swag, u know who was buzzing right wit him? JUELZ SANTANA. nikka was everywhere but he had a better work ethic than Juelz. I’m not even saying this shyt to say NY is better and all that bullshyt.
