Might be an unpopular opinion but I’ve always felt like Swizz is one of the most overrated producers ever by far. This story furthers that for me. The actual beat was probably hella trash. NORE probably made it the classic it is today by doing that.

Agreed 100%. He's got a handful of dope beats including that one but the majority of ones he made aged like shyt and sound like some kid playing with his dad's keyboard.
Yeah rewatching some of these clips posted some of yall buggin out bout the pod wasn't "that great y'all affected by nostalgia". And I know it's y'all tryna revise history who wasn't even tuning in live during its peak or when it was struggle status with Marisa too that sayin that. Rory Mal ain't talk or discuss shyt.....Yeah that wasn't the point of what made it special. The chemistry they had and the comedy the pod got too was something else. No moments from the Ish/Ice era is even comin close to the best moments from there. They haven't got that upper echelon true stand the test of time classic moments like that.
It's great now but it's like comparing Chappelle Show (Rory/Mal) to Atlanta (Ish/Ice/Mel/Flip). Yeah the latter is more cohesive, consistent, better dialogue but the highs, chemistry and classic moments you can randomly remember or want to go watch a clip of do not compare at all. I don't even remember YouTubing a memorable moment from the Ice/Ish era to go back to rewatch and while Mel and Flip have been great they haven't got it like that either. The funniest moments in this era have been 8-9/10 funny the peak of Rory & Mal run with Joe was at like 15/10 level. I remember moments I had to leave my workplace to gather myself from how hard I was about to or laughing or if I was eating and listening to it tryin hard as fukk to stop laughin and it wasn't workin I remember spittin food some days. Sometimes I had tears from how hard I was laughing. It's great now but it's not like that.
