The difference between Mel and Ish is that Ish acts like everything out his mouth is facts and anyone disagreeing is dumb. Mel is just highly opinionated but is more willing to go back and forth in a conversation and accept other perspectives.

The only one that can do that and she will actually concede is Marc because he does it with kid gloves.

If that whole thing about her being in multiple failed relationships then commenting on marriage thing came from anyone else she would have fought.

But Marc had to slowly put down the breadcrumbs for her to say "someone might perceive me that way"

That's the difference between having an actual conversation with someone versus always trying to debate someone. That's not a Mel problem. As soon as Mel slips up they go on the attack which puts her on defense which leads to her fighting admitting anything.. Where if they were more patient like you said then they can walk her into admitting where she's wrong.
