He talking about splitting them up as in having them switch seats, not firing them. MLH said something earlier in the episode about how he was sitting in a spot he usually didnt sit in.

It's because Ish/Ice always got inside jokes and stuff they tell each other off to the side, but too scared to share with the listeners. That's why at the end Joe was like "I said enough for the audience to understand what I'm saying. I didnt do what yall did". I'm assuming they were scared to say Gil looked gay or some shyt.
