Xu Haofeng, the filmmaker behind 2015βs The Final Master and 2017βs The Hidden Sword, is teaming up with Xu Junfeng for Men Qian Baodi (literally βA treasure in front of the doorβ).
The upcoming film features martial arts star Andy On (Abduction, Undercover Punch and Gun, Black Mask 2: City of Masks), Jacky Heung (League of Gods), Hayden Kuo (Kung Fu Monster) and Li Yuan (The Guillotines).
AFS describes the film as a βmartial arts dramaβ, which should come as no surprise coming from co-director Xu Haofeng, who made a name for himself by penning the screenplay for Wong Kar-Waiβs The Grandmaster. But it was 2011βs The Sword Identity, his directorial debut, which showed Xuβs true talent, who often showcases martial arts sequences in a less stylized and more realistic manner.
