Our server stack runs CentOS; you got used to it at the end, right?


At home, I just popped Mint 17.1 Cinnamon onto a Chromebox I picked up on Black Friday; very impressed....

You'll probably be once you switch to Linux. I'd recommend Ubuntu.

I use it most of the time and I haven't even bothered to install an antivirus because I don't need to. It also hasn't slowed down over time (which Windows tends to do) and doesn't update unless I tell it to. Shyt is great.

That's exactly what I was going to do...my issue is this laptop is a touch screen I hope that doesn't cause issues.

I'm out here struggling I got Ubuntu loaded but I can't connect to my wifi router...the appelet is even blank.

Try opening terminal and running

sudo apt-get install indicator-applet indicator-network

You may have to manually install your Wifi drivers
