I'm thinking about using Linux for a bit on my laptop windows is too glitchy and has too many updates for me.

I use it most of the time and I haven't even bothered to install an antivirus because I don't need to. It also hasn't slowed down over time (which Windows tends to do) and doesn't update unless I tell it to. Shyt is great.
I'm out here struggling I got Ubuntu loaded but I can't connect to my wifi router...the appelet is even blank.
So it doesn't just scan for wireless ssid?
