i've been here most of my life (elementary school to mid 30s), overall, the ratio of fly, jazzy gals to unattractive women here is on some womp womp shyt if you're comparing it to houston / atlanta / dc

it's some bad ones from memphis but tbh most of the ones i've known / messed with were homebodies fr, they only come out and kick it on rare occasions, unless you're plugged into certain social circles you may not ever know they exist

if you're of college age and have access to the gals at schools like rhodes and cbu you could prolly eat, i knew some BAAAD ones who went to rhodes

As I said before many of them are going to those cities because, they provide better opportunities than memphis can. Also you're right about the social circle thing if you don't know where to go and with there's a good chance you won't know they exist plus, like you said they rarely come out and frequent one spot because, the entertainment they're usually into, the city doesn't have like that.

This is 100% accurate. After i finally found a legit chick to kick it with one day she wanted to see that Think Like A Man joint. So we head to the Paradiso cause that was the only legit movie theater in the city back in like 2012 but the joint was sold out but...............................I saw so many fine women in line to get tickets i was like "where in the hell have yall been". You DO NOT see very many attractive women in Memphis at once like you do in Atlanta so that shyt threw me for a loop, even at Senses or Level 2 in its hey day you would NOT see more than a few decent looking women. So i dont know what these women do on the weekend or what but they are not out, yet they showed up for this movie. I honestly dont even know a solid plan for meeting attractive women in Memphis, you just have to luck into some shyt. Like one time i was at the bank and the teller actually got at me, then another time at Shelby Farms a chick ran up and jogged with me. Usually you can see bad chicks at an nba game but even at the Forum you won't find attractive women like that.

But yea going to college has made me realize that a lot of people do think of Memphis as some kind of warzone. Like forreal on some wild wild west shyt, they don’t even have to ask what part you’re from. But it does automatically give you some type of street cred so I guess it ain’t all bad

there's this one cat here (tim green) who does catered brunches with discussions centered around popular shows (insecure, she's gotta have it), i went to the insecure one with my girl last year and was pretty impressed with the number of good looking women there, there were hardly any men there either. brehs, don't sleep on the tim green brunches if you wanna meet women, you ain't gotta be at the nba games or the clubs to meet ladies. whole foods, sprouts, i done gave y'all enough game, go out there and prosper

Now Memphis is well known for producing crazy ass women. No Memphis brother would ever lie about that. The women are fine and thick as fukk, but they will peel your caps. Memphis chicks will literally straight up fight like a nikka in the streets.

On the other hand they can be very sweet girls and most of them want to be married and come from families that have had marriages. So there is that.

I have no idea why dudes feel the need to exaggerate so much when they speak about Chicago and Memphis. Overall Chicago and Memphis; especially Memphis are not really that bad. People who visit Memphis and stay there for any extended period of time eventually realize that Memphis is not as bad as it is made out to be, especially if you are not thugging.

Memphis is not even in the top 15 nationally on this list.

What was it like at UT?

As far as other universities it was pretty cool. Definitely catered to students as far entertainment and other resources. Professors were cool. For Christmas and thanksgiving they provided a bus for students that lived in West TN (Memphis and Jackson) for like $20 round trip. Since Knoxville is so UT focused rarely did I have to leave the surrounding campus for my needs (black beauty supply store for hair stuff). My dream school was Vandy for the longest and when I got in I changed my mind to UT at the last minute since Vandy was lowkey expensive. Glad I did.

I think blacks made up, what, 10% of the schools population but for whatever reason I’d say like 60% of the Black people were from Memphis which was mind boggling. I was the only black person in some of my classes, especially my majors courses. Memphis nikkas being Memphis nikkas we had a “reputation” but the black students all still had fun with each other. I even overheard some white bytches in one of my labs refer to the city and one of the predominately black dorms as “Memphrica” Definitely learned about racism that day.

Overall my experience was positive. 10/10 would recommend
