247Sports named ten five-star prospects in the 2017 class on Wednesday. Just wanted to give a quick rundown on where things stand with each prospect:
1. RB Najee Harris - Michigan (and many others) will push the soft Bama commit. According to his assistant coach, Harris would like to visit Michigan this spring. Tough pull obviously, no matter what his status is.
2. ATH Dylan Moses - Covered him in-depth earlier this week. Probably a LSU/Bama battle, even if Michigan offers and pushes. I did some digging, and I am still not convinced Michigan will offer.
3. DE AJ Epenesa - Iowa verbal; would be utterly shocked if he opened his recruitment back up. Dad is a proud alum and former player for the Hawkeyes.
4. OT Josh Myers - Ohio State verbal; another one that I'd be pretty surprised if he opened anything back up. I wouldn't be surprised if Michigan kept the communication lines open.
5. OT Foster Sarell - Michigan is probably on the periphery here, but is the only non Pac-12 school I've seen him mention. Washington and Stanford appear to be the early favorites. Michigan may get a visit soon.
6. WR Tee Higgins - Michigan has been sniffing around and may offer, but I don't foresee them as any kind of factor.
7. WR Donovan Peoples-Jones - We have covered him in-depth for over a year now. Long ways to go. Top target.
8. OL Austin Jackson - Described his interest in Michigan as "very high" last month. Jay Harbaugh was in to see him and he may be up for a junior day next month. Would be a big visit.
9. OL Calvin Ashley - Auburn verbal. Even if he reopened things, which I will hedge and say he will, Michigan will not be a factor. SEC/ACC kid.
10. ATH Darnay Holmes - Recently listed a "final" 7 that did not include Michigan. Many think he will end up at Stanford. Ohio State and Nebraska are very much in it.
