Ok so I’ve posted some key plays here and my next day assessment is

The kids got some more growing to do : there were flashes from a lot of kids but some miscues

I’m not in practice or the ocs head, idk if that was done on purpose to not let this game get away from us, the kids getting protected and brought along slowly, or personnel dictates that’s all we got til some wrs step up. That said time will tell

Kids have got to get hands on wrs to throw off their timing, we had too many free releases and tackling has to get better, gotta give wink his credit he’s dialed up some good plays and had the free rusher made the play we literally kill some of ous drives

Bryce has hella potential, but when opportunity is there he has to be on time, and deliver it optimally

Yeah I dont get people hating on the defense. Is it elite early on? No but they did enough especially given how poor our offense played. There were multiple drives that get killed by pressure if Oklahoma didn't have mobile ass daredevil Mateer to bail them out. Mateer is literally the best QB we will see on the schedule too.

Usually when you play a young QB you add tempo to make things easier for them. Playing slow vs a defense like that was diabolical, lol.

Bryce needs more dog in him as well. He legit looks like Devin Gardner running the ball. I hope its cause he's tentative and thats just not how he naturally runs in games.

He's got great passing potential, but in college as a young QB it helps to be a running threat. OU didnt fear him keeping the ball on an option or running past pressure.

Go back and watch, you'll see on MOST plays where he could have potentially kept the ball there was a linebacker or safety playing the keep EVERY TIME.
