You do realize that same Kickboxing champ got KO'd badly by Rothwell right? JDS is not the same fighter. His speed is gone. Still can't fight going backwards. Chin might be gone. Cain took years off his fight career. I don't see him winning

Point was that getting KO'd by Overeem doesnt mean you're trash. I dont see Rothwell catching JDS, this is a must win for him and Rothwell looked like shyt against Barnett. JDS lost his speed and ability to fight backwards? Rothwell never had those tools to begin with.
Junior still has good hip movement and power, I see him keeping the distance and battering Rothwells slow ass

You got it, Thompson. Everyone on main card gets a certain % of ppv buys, then main event and co main get a bigger pool depending on their contracts and negotiations. I'm sure a lot more fans know who Thompson is now after that complete annihilation of Hendricks on free tv.

True. But I think hes been in too many wars. The cain fights, the brutal Hunt fight, stipe. I think hes taken too much damage. I mean Overeem did shyt that whole fight. And when he finally came forward with that hook JDS dropped. Could be surprise or could be hes diminished. I believe its the latter. The thing about JDS is hes kind of like Penn. Just relied on athleticism and talent. Has he evolved? Not really. Still can't pressure really well. Still has bad footwork. Rothwell is slow and plodding but he is extremely durable. I believe he will catch JDS in an exchange and finish him. Maybe JDS will have a late resurgence since hes still relatively young. But the damage may be done

Just wondering what is JDS's fight weight his last few fights (im guessing around 230-240), at this stage of his career maybe he needs to avoid the big boys, trim some weight, trim sum of that added bulk muscle and fight at LHW where he can have a size and power advantage.

So he can get decapitated by Rumble? Or tossed on his head by Cormier? Come on....he's safer at hvyweight. I think Juniors demise has been a little exaggerated. He might never wear gold again but he will be a factor in that division for a long time still

Lets be real theres always gonna be 1 or 2 guys who are a threat to decapitate you or throw you around like a rag doll. But on avg there are more easier or maybe say better fights for him at LHW than at HW right now. And also more important bigger money fights that would be fun to watch. JDS vs Rothwell really doesn't do much for me as terms of interest. He's slowly starting to run out of guys to fight at HW that even matter far less guys he can beat.

thats why hes using that stance. because the mma gloves are essentially bare knuckle. boxing stances and hand positions only changed when bigger gloves came in. you cant just put you hands up and block in bare kknuckle and mma. i laugh when joe rogan goes on about how low a fighters hands are like it even matters. it doesnt matter where your hands are if you dont have control of distance.
