Alvarez is injured and to be honest I don't wanna see Cowboy vs Conor unless it's at a catch weight same with Diaz

Pettis vs McGregor :ohhh: There are a lot of LWs that would make the fight :blessed: This is why McGregor is awesome. A monster LW will take the fight and McGregor is game. Besides Cerrone, I don't think anyone would take such a dangerous fight on such short notice.

The injury suffered by Rafael dos Anjos , which kept him out of the main UFC 196 event , opened the possibility of immediate rematch toJose Aldo , who lost the featherweight Ultimate belt last December to Conor McGregor , opponent Dos Anjos in tournament the 5th of March. Former heavyweight champion until 65,8kg was one of the first options explored by the direction of the UFC to replace the lightweight champion weights. However, according to his coach, Andre Pederneiras, the invitation was rejected due to the short notice for the fight, only 12 days.

- Dana (White, UFC president) called me early in the morning, telling of what happened and asking if Aldo was in "shape" in order to fight. I said I was not and had no time was very little, and unfortunately he could not fight the following week - revealed Pederneiras to Combate.com in telephone contact.

Conor McGregor needs a new opponent for UFC 196, but Jose Aldo isn’t an option.

With Rafael dos Anjos sidelined with an injury, the UFC considered booking a rematch between "The Notorious" and "Scarface" for March 5 in Las Vegas. However, according to Aldo’s coach and manager Andre Pederneiras, they had to decline the offer.

"Dana (White) called me, telling what happened and asking if Aldo was in shape to fight," Pederneiras told Combate. "I said he wasn’t and that there wasn’t enough time, and unfortunately he wouldn’t be able to fight next week."

On Jan. 27, Aldo posted on his Instagram that he would only accept to return to the Octagon in a title fight. The only exception, he said, would be to rematch McGregor.

"For everything I have done, everything I have accepted and mostly how the fight ended, I will not accept any other fight other than a title shot," Aldo wrote in January. "My only exception would be fighting (McGregor), at any time, anywhere, and once that he is afraid and knows that I'm gonna win... Doesn't have to be title fight against him. Keep my belt, but I wanna whoop (your) ass anywhere."

During a recent media scrum in Rio de Janeiro, Aldo, who lost to McGregor in 13 seconds back in December, said he "returned to training a while ago, adjusting my weapons and getting better," but didn’t expect his next move to "be decided until dos Anjos’ fight with Conor."

Would the UFC do that though? Consecutive losses to RDA and Eddie makes me think the UFC won't want to risk Conor losing. I'd LOVE that fight but I could see them doing some safe nonsense instead.

I think it makes sense because Pettis can't afford to lose
