Anyone watch the UFC Road To The Octagon today on FOX?

Mike Ricci definitely turned Rory MacDonald out. I'd bet money that's he's blowing his back out.

still watching. If anyone wants to see what I meant about kids being terrible for BJ's career just watch this show. Nothing wrong with it but it's definitely a factor for BJ.

edited again as i'm watching.. now it's clear why Shogun's kids did the same.. Lol it's funny how this shows up after we were just talking about it a day or so ago.
:pachaha: that was the first thought that went thru my head too, its so obvious they are gay.Fox probably told them to put some girls in there to throw ppl off the scent. No wonder rory was drawn to gsp

great show, u see most of the ufc bts sort of things that it all because a chore but that wasnt bad..Didnt excite me anymore than I already was tho, hope the ratings do well..

im all for fights..i just dont like the 2 ppvs a month bullshyt
too much..one a month is fine

It's actually 6 fights in 7 weeks with 4 of them being free cards plus TUFs going to be running too

Sure it could overssaturate the market but I could care less :manny: I just want to see some scraps

The 3 weeks of fight cards we know for the most part are stacked

The Last of the Outlaws
Dominick Cruz underwent another major knee surgery this past week, and it'll likely further delay his return to the octagon.

Trainer Eric Del Fierro today told MMAjunkie.com (MMAjunkie.com) that Cruz's anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) was replaced after his body rejected one from a cadaver.

The UFC bantamweight champion is in Los Angeles today to meet with a doctor who will give him a timeline for his return, DelFierro said, though he estimated it could set the fighter back another six to nine months.

Cruz (19-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) underwent corrective surgery in June after tearing his ACL in preparation for a rematch with Urijah Faber, who coached opposite him on "The Ultimate Fighter 15." The two were scheduled to meet at UFC 148 on July 2, but Cruz was forced out of the fight, and Renan Barao went on to beat Faber to claim an interim title at UFC 149.

Del Fierro said Cruz's ACL was replaced, as well as his MCL, which had been torn prior to a fight with Charlie Valencia in 2008.

Following several months of recovery, the MCL held while the ACL did not.

"He's pissed and disappointed," Del Fierro said. "But I think he's doing better now. Once he talked to the doctor and found out what was going on, he felt much better."

The trainer said Cruz's training was advancing with the approval of his doctor and physical therapist, but he had not been cleared to prepare for a fight.

Meanwhile, Cruz hoped to return in early 2013 but couldn't provide a date.

Cruz most recently stepped into the cage in October 2011, when he outpointed Demetrious Johnson to defend his title, which he also defended against Faber at UFC 132.

This past month, UFC President Dana White said he would offer a fight to Barao, possibly against Michael McDonald, despite the champ's stated preference to wait for Cruz's return. Barao coach Andre Pederneiras said late this past month that he had yet to receive an offer but would welcome a fight in early 2013.

Poor guy, can't imagine having to go thru the surgery/rehab process twice in that short of a time span. Seems like it'd mess up your mind/ ability to trust the process.

They should go ahead and make Barao the "champ" no more interim crap and stop letting him sit on the belt. Fight Macdonald or whatever, Cruz can beat up Faber as a tuneup when he finally can return to settle things there

I hate to say it but they should strip Cruz of his belt . It will be 2 years between fights. Meanwhile renan is holding and defending the interim belt.

An advertisement in the new issue of "UFC 360," formerly known as "UFC Magazine," declares the upcoming 17th season of "The Ultimate Fighter" debuts on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 9 p.m. ET.

Rumor is Bellator will be Thursday nights so no head to head programming

^do u mean the reality show or their regular show cuz rbney has always said moving it off fridays would mean less ppl in the arena..

I dont know if I am just in a mood but when I heard this news I just thought of the famous quote said by ivan dago.Cruz is kind of the poster boy for why the lighter weight classes havent taken off.He isn the sole reason but one of the most glaring. That whole jumping thing he does that leads to a weak offense was such a bore after 2 rounds. And dude would always go the full 5.Add to that dud he was feeling himself way too much for a guy with not even 1 classic to his name

Its whatever :manny:

It seems to be the regular show will be moving to Thursdays
Bellator has reserved a Jan. 10, 2013, date in Atlantic City, N.J., a Thursday night, for what would be the first Bellator event on Spike.

Nick Lembo, the Counsel for the New Jersey Athletic Control Board, confirmed the date to MMAfighting.com, noting the show will take place at the 4,500-seat Adrian Phillips Ballroom as part of Boardwalk Hall. It's an arena HBO has used for boxing events, but it is not the larger Boardwalk Hall that UFC used years ago.

Officials at Spike TV, however, said no final decision has been made.

"We are still deciding a few options, still looking at staying on Fridays or moving to the old TUF slot on Wednesdays," said an official with Spike TV, who noted Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney is scouting venues for the new season.

Last I heard the reality show doesn't start filming until the new year so I'm guessing it won't air until March/April

King Mo is expected to make his Bellator debut with a tournament fight on their second card of the year Jan. 17

Mark Hunt returning to fight Stefan Struve @ UFC on Fuel in Japan March 3.

Previously rumored fight between Urijah Faber and Vaughan Lee will not take place at UFC 156 as instead Faber will facing Ivan Menjivar at UFC 157

Faber/Menjivar is actually a rematch as Faber beat Menjivar via controversial DQ due to kicking a downed opponent back in 2006

You can see the finish at the 3 minute mark

"I will watch MMA if someone I know is actually in it, but all the guys I know personally are gone. Liddell’s gone — he’s a good friend. Ortiz is gone — he’s a good friend too. Brock Lesnar is gone. The other guys now, I don’t watch, because I don’t care about them. But I’ll tell you: I have been in matches with Bruiser Brody that were tougher than any MMA match! Especially in Tokyo. Same thing with Stan Hansen. Try getting in the ring with him one time in Tokyo, brother. Good lord! And F.Y.I., nobody in MMA could have beaten Harley Race or dikk Slater. Those guys were just that tough. And remember Haku? Don’t ever think that anybody would mess with Haku. If he was a young guy and he got into MMA, my god — he’d have done everything! He was the toughest son of a bytch I’ve ever met in my whole life. No lie, take my word for it."

:why: :why:

Fridays would be so clutch from a personal standpoint. AC is like 3 hours from me, last time I covered an event for Bellator i just took that Friday off work and worked the fight and came back. Thats just me being selfish :skip:

I still stand by what I said about Bellator getting bigger/better with this Spike deal. I hope they make this official so I can get some press credentials again :steviej:

I was referring too feb.. There's two ppvs like last year
Instead if stacking the Super Bowl card the talent is split, they do that whenever there's two ppvs
Look at this past summer :ANDERSON EEK:

:beli: I can't take flairs opinion on toughness seriously considering his wives seem to repeatedly put the beats on him
