Probably a stupid question but why exactly do ppl have to pull out of fights due to cuts?

because it puts gus at a disadvantage from the bell.All gonzo has to do is hammer on the cut and the fight cud be stopped

They didn't say it was not true, Dana said that they haven't pulled him out of the fight yet and that Gus still wants to fight. However, the head of the Swedish MMA Federation said it would take a miracle for him to get cleared. The cut needs to heal by Friday. That's when the medicals are. I doubt they'll allow him to fight.

How often does one get cut in training a week before the fight? Isn't training pretty much over so close to the fight.

Probably doing lite sparring that got out of hand. His partner is probably catching all types of hell. I dont think its that big of a deal to Dana honestly. They are already pushing that Sonnen/Jones card more then this already.

They use these cards as platforms for PPVs. He likely isn't losing sleep but this isn't by any means.
