Let invicta do a couple shows, build up the weight classes n promo help get exposure for the lesser name womens fighters, then BUY OUT da whole fukkin company. Import it into the ufc as its new womens division, and done. sign da chq.

and its funny, cuz after these smaller shows get bought out, they stay wit zuffa for a couple yrs usually as part of the contract, get a fancy new title n what not. But you would think yrs later they would start another new promotion again wit sum of da cash they got in the buyout. Reed harris, scott adams, coker, none of these dudes ever left after and started up again using all da cash n now industry and tv hookups they gained from the ufc and zuffa. quite strange.

And when you buy a company it's common practice to add a clause against starting a new company for a set period of time. Zuffa is shady but not as terrible as you may think. lol

UFC and Invicta stated they have a working relationship. Sarah Kaufman for example fought last night even though she is contracted to Zuffa and Invicta's 135lbers are invited to the Ultimate Fighter tryouts.

When you look at it closer it really is a mutually beneficial relationship. UFC only has 1 womens weight class and definitely aren't going to add 4 or 5 more anytime soon. Invicta can act as a pipeline of talent for UFC's 135lb division which raises the overall profile of MMA which in turn helps Invicta who still have the majority of womens MMA talent within the lower weight classes.

Didn't know they had to leverage dat much to get strikeforce, thought they got da ends from the casino side, but mks sense they probably leveraged against the casino side.

Yeah i know about the clause on starting your own promotion, I believe Cokers was 2 yrs, but them WEC guys its been long enough, i'm sure their clause is done by now.

Although I think the 145 pound division is making great strides, 155 is pretty easily the better and deeper division. One of the major reasons the division is looking better is because of all the LWs making their way down [Siver, Edgar, etc.].

Matt Mitrione's contract suspended, investigation to come following 'significant breach of the UFC's code of conduct'

Earlier today we reported on Matt Mitrione appearing on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. During the appearance on the show, Mitrione unleashed a torrent of comments that can only be described as transphobic, calling transgender fighter Fallon Fox a "disgusting freak" among other things.

The UFC provided the following statement to Bloody Elbow after we asked for comment on the situation:

"The UFC was appalled by the transphobic comments made by heavyweight Matt Mitrione today in an interview on "the MMA Hour".

"The organization finds Mr Mitrione’s comments offensive and wholly unacceptable and - as a direct result of this significant breach of the UFC’s code of conduct – Mr Mitrione’s UFC contract has been suspended and the incident is being investigated.

"The UFC is a friend and ally of the LGBT community, and expects and requires all 450 of its athletes to treat others with dignity and respect."

He seems to be talking about how Fox is, in his opinion, taking the easy route by challenging and beating up on women....not so much that he thinks he's disgusting for getting a sex change.
