Hmm. A couple days ago Dana said Jones still has to go in for an MRI. I'll wait and see if Dana confirms it because Gus/Machida would seem like a no-brainer for UFC's Fox Sports debut show.

Sorry but Gustaffson has zero change against Jones. He'll get taken down, gnp and bloodied up wit elbows so quick, ppl will be asking for their money back. Not sure if you've actually watched any Gustaffson fights, but he has no take down defense. THe best wrestler he faced Phil Davis, beat em n took him down no problem.

Outside of Phil davis, who has gust faced that is a dominate wrestler to say he has good take down defense, Rua, Thiago Silva, old man Matyushenko, or a 185 pd Hamil? I can see Jones smothering Gust right off the bell much like he did Sonnen, not even give Gust a change to setup a kick or strike.
No takedown defense? UFC.com has his TDD listed at 84%. And the Davis fight happened three years ago in Gus' second fight in the UFC - he still was able to stuff 4/5 TD attempts from Phil before getting subbed. Also, after that fight he switched camps in order to train with Davis full-time to sharpen up his wrestling, and he's improved immensely. Hamill is a decent wrestler and he wasn't able to take Alex down at all.

With that said, I still think Jones will get him down eventually and get a GnP stoppage. Gus has a 76.5" reach which will be the longest reach Jones has faced since Brandon Vera (78"), so Gus *might* find some success early, but Jones is still too big and his wrestling is something Gus hasn't seen thus far.

Hopefully, Jon moves up to HW after this fight :obama:

Your take down defense % is as good as the wrestlers you faced. How many fighters have been said to have great take down defense then faced GSP and get taken down with ease? I luv watchin BJ Penn fights, and every1 use to say he had great TDD, but then he faced GSP and that went out the window.

What does an 84% take down defense matter, when its based on Rua, Vlad, thiago, matt hamil who fights at a lower weight, Te Huna and Diabete? And the 1 guy who has a strong wrestling based, got him down n choked him out.

That Takedown defense stat is a joke, its like saying a guys chin can take 99% of punches, then he faces Mark Hunt and that 1% of a punch lands n drops him.

I think Machida is Jones' only notable victory. The rest were pretty washed up fighters with big names who were in their prime 5+ years ago.

C'mon breh:rose: Outside of Jackson and Chael, all of Jones wins as champ has been against solid competitition. Vitor would be the champ if he held unto that armbar. Shogun was looking real solid after beating Machida twice. Evans is still a when he doesn't fight like a p*ssy

Hunt has heavy hands and granite chin. If JDS drops his hands he may wake up in his hotel room asking what happened

I doubt JDS will engage in a 3 round kickboxing match with hunt. I think he will use his quickness and technique to wear him out and break out his much talked about but barely seen TD/BJJ in the later rounds. Even though JDS has a much better chin then kongo/struve, he did go down like a sack of potatoes when cain hit him with that overhand right. My picks are:

Stephens first round TKO
Bowles UD
Burrell UD
Khabib first round sub
Smith UD
Bermudez UD
Story UD

Cerrone UD- As long as Cerrone mixes it up with the striking and TD and not stand in front of Noons watching him like with diaz/pettis he should win

Maynard UD-Don't know how grant will fare against stiffer competition and someone who is bigger at 155. As long as Grays knee is fine, he should be able to neutralize grants striking with his wrestling

Texeria round two submission. Same as I mentioned before. Te-huna is a decent striker with a nice win streak, but he hasnt fought anyone of texeria caliber. I think glover will use his TD/BJJ to get the easy sub victory since that is te huna weakness
JDS UD
Cain third round TKO- lets be honest, big foot is here by luck due to browne blowing his knee out and overeem not taking him seriously. Don't see how this won't be any different then last year. Big foot is still slow as shyt and terrible against wrestlers. Cain won't destroy him as quickly, but once big foot gasses, goodnight

Hunt has been fighting more dangerous strikers than JDS for years. So I hope JDS has evolved somehow.
