this argument would be appropriate if you were talking about weightclasses below LW.But if the only thing thats going through your mind when your are watching a chick fight is "i cant enjoy this cuz a male scrub could kick their asses" something is wrong with you..I will take the unrefined skills I see in a ronda or miesha fight over the touch tag low impact highly mobile garbage "athletes" supposedly " fighting smart" do today

I meant it in the sense that no one watches D-League or Triple A because even though there are great games happening there, it's just not the same when you know within the same sport, these guys are not actually top tier talent. So when you're watching girls with sloppy standup, it takes away from that feeling I'm watching the best fight. I'm picking apart the fight in my head and seeing all the wrong things they're doing. Rhonda is a single exception. She's like 3 levels above everyone she's faced so far and I like watching her throw techniques and armbars from every position. So I'll watch the title fights. But to watch the other girls fighting? I have yet to see UFC-level talent.

That's 2 different things. Phil is a master at wrestling. My point is that the girls (with a single exception of Rhonda's Judo) are not masters of anything when compared with the males. So I rather watch males go at it (n/h)

They're not refined. This is my own opinion.

And Bones' striking is sick. I mean, I know it's 50% athleticism, 30% size but it's still crazy watching how he can mix it up. His elbows, spinning techniques, kicks.. He doesn't suck at striking. That's a different debate.

He might not have the best hands, but he's easily one of the best and most diverse strikers at 205. He's out-striked virutally everyone (Shogun, Machida, Rampage, Rashad, Vitor, etc) he's faced (with the Gus fight being very close in terms of striking). But, he's a shiity striker? I can't even take your posts seriously breh.

If, Bones is striking is shytty, name me 5 better strikers at 205. This should be good.

What topic am I dodging? you are tryiing to distort the discussion and frame a question thats irrelevant..You say he outstruck all of them but did he not have height/reach adv in every fight scratch his last? height/reach with a wrestling base can disguise a lot but the gus fight is exactly what happens when he has to rely on his striking and only his striking & he got exposed, no?

ps technically I cud say rashad is better, jones striking is heavily flawed and all things being square (against an opponent his height) we saw what happened..Does that mean rashad wud be a better striker if they fought? clearly not because we saw jones basically toy with him from a distance to a decision. So its a moot argument

Inch-for-inch, Machida, Shogun, Rampage have better striking. I can't name 5 but it's no shame to have less than them. Bones is good but not the best in striking. That height.

Most mma fighters stand up is garbage as all sin. Gus, machida, the Diaz brothers, jds to some extent gsp even Hendrix knows how to throw punches properly outside of that it's really sketchy how mma fighters stand up because of how unorthodox people are in a "mma" setting but I usually cringe when most fighters including jones throws punches every time it has to be some sort of looping hook or some hay maker. The quickest way to punch someone is straight why can't nikkas just punch straight

Jones has top 3 striking period with the various ways he uses his limbs currently I'd argue machida and aldo maybe better no spider he's injured. I like barraro striking. Rampage isn't better at striking he was better at punching. Shogun can hold his own reflexes are shot tho. Vitor same

So Jones manages to out-strike and beat Gus (although it was close) and somehow he got exposed?


I'm almost done with this topic breh. My final thoughts, Jones is a great and technical/diverse striker who happens to make great use of his reach (probably the best of any fighter in MMA [refering to the use of his reach]). You can carry on spewing your bullshyt though ('Jones is a shytty striker').
