Machida/Weidman postponed to July 5th

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced today that middleweight champion Chris Weidman has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled title defense against Lyoto Machida on May 24. Weidman suffered a knee injury that will require minor surgery and his bout with Machida has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 5. A new main event for UFC 173 on May 24 will be announced in the days to come

They better put Diaz on that show. He said he would fight in May. Match him up with Kampmann or somebody

Now hes only out for a month so the fight will be fine(hopefully) The thing is UFC really painted themselves in a bad corner. They have a ton of shows this year(some on the same exact day ) and they have no stars to market. For example, they have Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens headlining at card in San Antonio at the AT&T center. Why the fukk would you book that arena for those two and who would buy a ticket to that show except the hardcore UFC fans?
