Never heard anything about that, but Shogun reportedly turned down the bout with Jones too.

Read it on twitter last night ill see if i can find the link. But yeah Shogun turned the fight down, but i was talking about moving forward after UFC 152. DC needs to hit the dolce diet and fight at 205

Chael Sonnen is the lamest athlete alive. Hes making the rounds on every sowtelling that same corny ass wine tasting joke. The funny thing that I haven't heard anyone say is Jones might have accepted the fight if that idiot didnt troll and bait him on twitter. And I've always said it but Dana needs to seriously be muzzled. Everything hes done, from the irrational handling of 151 to how hes shytting on everyone from Jones to Machida, has been utterly embarrassing. Can you imagine this behavior coming from Stern or Goddell?

i respect everything dana has done for ufc/mma BUT, one thing i never liked about him was that he always tries to put himself in the spotlight. goodell, stern, selig don't even do this. he just needs to shut the fuk up sometimes and play his position.

Hold on...wait...that pic of Rumble cutting weight....that's for a fight...@ 205????

He struggles to cut weight even at LHW? Seriously!??? What is his walk around weight? Damn just fight @ HW already!!

theres been reports of him walking around 220 ish :smh: i can't figure out how the fuk he was able to make it at welterweight all that time. nikkkas talk about jon jones being big for his weight class, johnson could have been fighting at middle and light heavyweight all this time.

do u see stern with a twitter taking shots at player and fans

dana is in his own class when it comes to being in the spotlight. not even don king put himself out there like that.

No champ has taken a fight on 8 days notice. Jon Jones already sacraficed a friendship for the ufc. These demonic cacs are never satisified. Im happy that Anderson said hes willing to fight anyone at light heavyweight though.

Who cares if Chael wants to fight? Jones would win IMO but why put yourself at risk on 8 days notice? Just to please Dana White? Nah he's the champ. Deserves some respect.

We get Jones vs. Machida on the 22nd and that should be a good fight if Machida continues to train the way he has been because he looked pretty decent on FOX the other day. Good enough IMO.

Now that I think about it, they really tried to set Bones up, It's not sitting right. Sonnen is one of Hendos close friends. Hendos gets hurt earlier than reported. Sonnen takes notice, he starts training/been training in case something happens. Once its confirmed that Hendo cant fight, Sonnen goes to twitter to start his promo for the fight, get the fans in a frenzy, so in case Hendo can not fight Jon, he is undoubtedly the best person to take his place. Dana takes wind, and he sees the dollar signs. He also sees an opportunity for his man crush Sonnen to wear a title belt. There have been reports that Sonnen told Dana he hasnt trained since his last fight. Bullshyt, you really think a known cheater would be above telling the truth. I dont believe that one minute. I respect Jones, he already stated there was no way in hell that Sonnen would talk his way to a title shot. Which he basically did.

Hendo and Sonnen are not training buddies and to be honest i don't think they are close. Sonnen trains with Lindland in Oregon and Hendo and Lindland are on the outs at the moment. Hendo hurt his knee 3 weeks ago and was still trying to train through it and take the fight but it was a UFC appointed Dr who couldn't clear Hendo to fight. You have a point though maybe Sonnen heard something and started trying to talk his way into the fight but its funny that a few days prior to UFC being cancelled, Dana said that Chael could not talk his way into a match with Bones because he just lost to Silva. However, i do agree that the UFC set up Bones to take the fall for this one when they clearly messed up by putting together a weak card. I don't understand why the other fighters on the card are blaming Bones when its clear that UFC don't give a damn about them otherwise they would have gone ahead with the card

Rousey mystified by Jones decision

Strikeforce women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has told ESPN she "doesn't understand" why Jon Jones turned down the opportunity to fight Chael Sonnen on short notice at UFC 151.
Sonnen had offered to step in for the injured Dan Henderson in the light-heavyweight title fight in Las Vegas next Saturday, but Jones rejected, causing the first cancellation of an entire card in the UFC in 11 years.
Rousey, who says she classes herself as a friend of Jon Jones, was mystified by the decision. She told ESPN: "Mostly, I'd be more bummed with my coach, if I had that situation come up and my coach said anything else other than 'you're the world champion, you could beat anyone, anytime. Go do it', I would think 'why doesn't my coach have any confidence in me?' I don't know what Jon Jones' reasoning is, but I'd have made a different decision."
Rousey, who retained her title last weekend by beating Sarah Kaufman inside a minute with her trademark armbar finish, echoed the sentiments of Chael Sonnen and said she was sympathetic for the other fighters on the card who are no longer being paid to fight next weekend.
"I don't have any kids to provide for, if I come home with a bruised up face and a loss all I have to worry about is my own pride and my cable bill," she added. "When I was first starting out, when I really needed the money, the main event fell through and the whole event was cancelled and I know how that feels. I wouldn't want to do that to anybody else."
Rousey admitted that had she been aware the card was going to be cancelled she would have told UFC president Dana White that she wanted to fight instead.
"If Dana said he wanted me to fight Chris 'Cyborg' Santos with a 40lbs weight disadvantage or wrap our hands with Duck Tape and be there in 40 minutes, I'd say I'd be there in 10 minutes just so I could stretch first. It doesn't matter to me, I consider myself the best in the world. I think if you have that title, you have a responsibility to defend it at anytime against anyone
