I love this fight for some weird ass reason (given the situation) :smugfavre:

Stephan needs to get this fight to the ground somehow...his top JJ is underrated as hell

Anderson is the man for saving the card...but u also need to understand hes only going to take a fight he thinks he can win

I've watched alot of fights but I've never really paid much attention of his takedown game. What do yall think of his takedown defense/offense...good enough?

Silva has underrated takedown defense....okami couldn't get him down...Maia couldn't get him down...but Bonnar is so much huger than those guys.

Forrest SHOULD HAVE TRIED to take him down but he thought he could hang.

From what I remember...Stefan has a solid takedown from the greco clinch but he usually likes to bang on the feet and doesn't try to take it to the ground unless he's getting tagged and grabs onto his opponent in the process.

Hes not known for his takedowns...ure not gonna see him shoot a "chael" double leg and put him on the ground...but if he can clinch him/get silva against the cage, Stephan can drag the fight down to the ground from there no doubt

He's got good JJ too (especially top)..hes someone that always passes guard (rather than hanging out inside and GnP) and looks for submissions

With that said tho...Silva gonna put the beats on him

so why bonner? why not rashad or somebody else at 205?

if they will really risk anderson losing in the ufc they would want to market it as its own event.. and going against rashad or shogun would put pressure on him to see jones next

shyt hopefully bonnar is silva testing to see if he has it in him to take a shot at jones before he retires

Silva has teammates @ 205(Feijao, Machida, L.Nog)...he doesn't want a contender knowing he's not gonna compete there. And Bonnar knows he's not getting a title shot, he's been whining for a big fight before he retires...and here it is.

At this point I'm just wondering if it will be more epic then Forrest? It will probably be similar to the Leben/Franklin fights as far as destruction goes

Anderson Silva Vs. Stephan Bonnar :sadcam:@ 205 To Headline UFC 153, Maldonado vs. Teixeira To Co-Main*Event

:what:
bonnar aint much of a contender/headliner for that matter but anderson is arguably the greatest that ever did it.Watching him at work is poetry in motion. This aint like one of those jitz fags that arent going to fight or once tagged fall while spreading their legs.Bonnar is going to try to shock the world or go out on his shield.I am cool with this as a main event :manny:

Bonnar is a tough dude and im sure he'll put up a better fight than irving/griffin, but im sure anderson is gonna ko/tko him in a violent way espicially infront of his home crowd

just for fukks sake, heres bonnar getting his ass beat by machida back in the day

Bonnar man this ish a dud :shaq2:

It's a pretty good fight, not sure why some are whining. Anderson wasn't going to fight till 2013, now we get to the see the GOAT fight and there are people complaining. :aicmon:

I don't think Silva was down to diet, cut weight and defend his belt on short notice. Plus, there is no reason for him to fight a contender in the LHW division, it would be a huge gamble on Anderson's part [with pretty minimal reward]. I [like a lot of other people] would've liked Anderson to fight a better fighter at LHW, but this situation/fight makes sense [for the UFC, Anderson and Bonnar].

I don't like Bonnar he's a tough guy. But to me he's a bigger rich Franklin and I think he's trash also. Silva vs Forrest was a "dangerous" fight forrest was a contender back then so I can't see why he can't fight another contender

But I do like to see silva. I was just waiting for GSP to win...:troll:
