UFC is a pro wrestling promotion. Stephan Bonnar vs Anderson Silva is not in the realm of a competitive match, a blatant squash match for Anderson in Brazil.

nah man...this is just a desperate attempt to save the card

Anderson is a card saver...he wanted to take a fight where he didnt have to cut to 185...but not against a Jon Jones or High level 205'er

UFC didnt want this either, but i respect them for putting it on

ufc just throwing shyt together now and hoping it sticks.

first bones vs chael, which bones got crucified for turning down (although he had good reason to say "fukk that"). now we have this fiasco - a guy with one foot out the door, who's a gatekeeper at best, is given a crack at the goat mma fighter...in a desperate attempt to save a card.

i mean, i understand why they put this together but i just hate these match-ups that make absolutely no sense in the grand scheme of things.

i suppose it'll be intriguing to see if silva can stop him. i don't think bonner's ever been ko'ed or subbed...i'm not sure if he's even been knocked down yet.

Stephan Bonner comes to fight..only one fight in his career where he fough for points and he admitted that he was just trying something new from training..but he usually comes to brawl
I beleive hes just gonna go for broke and stand with anderson, which wil be exciting to see, considering that brazilian crowd..its gonna be nuts:bryan:

looking at something from another point of view doesn't mean you agree with that point of view.
but you are not looking at things from another point of view...

You're whining about "match-ups that make absolutely no sense in the grand scheme of things."

So name names, who should replace silva/bonner (on four weeks notice)?

obviously you're just looking for an argument here, kiddo.

we both know why this fight is going on (to "save" the card), so yeah, obviously i did look at it from the ufc's perspective.

if you think disagreeing is whining, then you've got a lot of growing up to do.

i don't know who should replace them. i don't have a list of who's available or willing or injured. that's not really relevant, either. that's not my job. it's likely that they could've put together a fight that wasn't as big a headliner but made more sense in terms of match-ups and rankings and such...but instead they decided to go with the big name vs. whoever would step into the cage with him.

i like i said, i get the decision. i'd just rather not see the ufc get into the trend of these putting types of fights together.

and there it is.... talk shyt from behind the arm chair, but when asked to name names you can't...

Fact is most of the top fighters (especially at 205) are either booked, injured or unwilling to fight a major contender on 4 weeks notice...

And why would you run the risk of "being in the mix" one day... then taking a dangerous fight (on short notice) and possibly losing?

It doesn't make sense. Hence why Anderson is fighting Bonner and not a Rashad or Glover... So why bytch about it?... Just enjoy the fight for what it is.

i'd just rather not see the ufc get into the trend of these putting types of fights together.
Fighters get injured... changes like this are gonna happen frequently, deal with it.
