I don't know why they let Bendo go. He wasn't the flashiest or most exciting but he wasn't Fitch either. Dudes act like Bendo fights suck which they didn't. Both Frankie fights solid. The Melendez fight was one of the best that year. 2-0 at 170. Oh well. Great pick up for Bellator and that signing really boosts their profile. Good to see legit competition to Zuffa
where was he really going to go, he lost to Pettis in the 2 worse ways (a flash finish/5rd battle) he was destroyed by the champion. Was probably not getting fights because of his rep and reality of his situation so opted to move up and save a we headlined fight (doing zuffa a solid) but where was that going to lead. He would have got murdered the deeper he got at ww. In the end he wasn't a needle mover (though in today's MMA very few are)

He had traction at 170(even tho I didn't think he'd win a title) Hes a solid fighter. Has somewhat a name. Hes basically a good hand. He can always headlines a dozen of their shows(especially in the asian market) UFC usually holds on to guys like that. If he was Davis, Shields, or Fitch were people legit hated watching them on tv, then yeah. But I don't believe Henderson is on that level

Ok you are making up shyt now. That show did over 10k which is great for that being the first time there. And Koreans are used to blacks and half breeds over there for over 60 years now(Korean War)

Benson Henderson isnt far off of Phil Davis, Fitch, or Shields, at all. I remember people wanted Pettis to take the belt off of him so bad :mjlol: Guy had a nice title run and didnt win over fans atall. This isnt a big loss for UFC whatsoever

It will help Bellator but Benson said ultimately he wanted to go back to UFC to retire so let's see what happens now.

Also did you hear about Kurt Angle wanting to fight in Bellator as well this year?

I think what everyone is forgetting is the UFC is in the entertainment business. Not loyalty business, not grappling competition but entertainment. How entertaining is it to have Benson who at 1 point went 4 years without finishing a fight, walking out to church music, giving very minimal interviews or online social commentary to add hype to his fights.

If your not knocking dudes out, breaking arms, or hypeing/promoting your fights then you are expendable. Just like in all the other major spots, NFL forget about the running game, ppl want big throws big catches and high scores. NBA 3 pt shoots everywhere, forget about the boring slow big men. NHL just did a 3 on 3 all star game.

UFC is in the same boat, trying to compete for the audiences attention, and Bendo I luv ya as a fighter but your not that exciting of a fighter to watch. You need guys like Pettis and Edgar to market your fights and make you exciting to watch. Since hes been out of the 155lb division has he been missed? Are we sitting here saying we gotta see a RDS vs Bendo rematch. Nope, and now what salary do you think Bendo is asking for, what he would get paid prolly could pay for 10 Sage's.

Thats why there is no union in MMA or UFC, the old, past prime fighters wouldn't want to give up their future earnings for the better of the sport and the young fighters. Like in NBA, if there was no cap or union Lebron or Curry could ask and get 50m a year and would be worth it based on marketing they bring. But when you got lower tier players that need to make a living you gotta take less for the greater good of the other athletes. U think a Diaz brother will take less money so a youngin on his 2nd fight can make a decent wage......:russ:

A lot of truth here but there is no rationalizing an unproven rook like northcutt being on 40k to show plus another 40k if he wins whilst aljermain sterling can't negotiate higher than 14k/14k :scust:
