This whole (insert fighter) doesn't get finishes shyt is ridiculous. Jon Jones has gone to decision with his last three opponents, Robbie has gone 2 for 5 in finishes his last 5, they're not gonna knock out everyone. Bendo was far from a boring fighter but I guess with the rise of Conor plenty of fighters aren't gonna meet the criteria of being "exciting" enough.

It's 2 fold, u can have an exciting fight witout a knock out that casual fans will light. It's called a stand up war, blood every where and guys Goin at it. Robbie has plenty of those.

Then u have Bend, he plays it safe doesn't get in too many stand up wars but wants to be paid like a top earning champ. Cnt have it both ways.

Bones Jones finished 6 fights in a row vs a who's who of the LHW rankings at that time. That's how u build the hype and the fan base. Bendo went 4 years and didn't finish ne1. And the most memorable fight that any casual fan will ever remember of Bendo is Pettis jumping off the cage and kicking him.

It's funny, ufc dumps older vet fighters give young and up coming kids like sage and sterling a chance and Mma purists rip em and hate on em. Say stop chasing knockouts and let's jus have great Mma fights.

Yet Bellator has the nerve to still have Kimbo and shamrock headline fights and ppl say good job Coker. If there was a Mma union there's no chance they wld be letting shamrock fight Still. I feel sorry for his brain cells.

And Benson got a sub win in two of his last 4 wins anyway. :mjlol:

Feel like Dana would offer Jones a ton of $$$ to move up at that point.

That division is in a true crisis. Your champ is 38, Cain is a 1 fight a year guy and who knows how long you can even count on that. Nobody up there is under 30

We're legit talking about Ben fukking Rothwell as a title contender :mjlol:

If I'm Dana, I give Jones whatever he wants and let Alex and Cormier have the LHW division

How much juice does that have long term? Seems like both divisions need an infusion of rising talent with the HW being a little more dire.

The casual fan is what all sports is fighting over and marketing too. Let's be honest, nba, nfl, mlb, nhl, and now ufc don't give a damn about the old skool truly loyal die hard fans of their sport. They want that new money, new jersey sale, new viewer. It's business, their in it to mk money not satisfy die hard fans.

So I may not give a damn about the casual fan, but in the end your forced to as that casual fan is what ur particular sport is catering too. And all their 'business' decisions are made with the casual fan in mind.

Both divisions do but HW is wayyyyyy worse off. I think Alex would be pretty marketable with the strap.

Heavyweight is just a bunch of fat, perpetually injured old men. I honestly dont give a fukk about any of the current matchups up there :yeshrug:
