I went back and watched some old McGregor fights...

He is the BEST striker in UFC history, better than Anderson Silva...Silva was a counterpuncher, when he wasn't attacked, his fights were kind of boring, similar to Machida...

But Conor attacks and his punches are CRISP...I think the only two ways to beat him is take him to the ground and submit him via BJJ or take him to the ground and "dry hump" and keep him there for the rounds...

The only way to beat Conor is via a boring fight...If you dare stand with him, you are going to SLEEP...

If Dos Anjos tries to bang, he is going to sleep...:russ:His only game plan is to wrestle and BJJ the shat out of Conor...
Master Teacher is back.

Anderson vs Connor striking is a interesting convo. Whenever I'm trying to think of whos as accurate a puncher as Connor I only come up with Anderson. I dont understand why Anderson depended on counter so much more though....

Hasnt beaten a single top 10 opponent. Why do yall gotta prop dudes up undeservedly? Wins and losses speak for themselves.

He lost to Johnson, lost to Cerrone, lost to Ferguson. Beating Bobby Green, Evan Dunham and Paul Felder isnt impressive
Bobby Green was top 10 and that put Barboza in the top 10 right afterwards. :camby:

I haven't watched his cage rage era fights in a long time, but thinking back to the Tony Fryklund and even Ryo Chonan fights; I feel like he was more offensive minded and less counter reliant at the time. I may have to queue up Fight Pass and watch some of his classics because I wonder if it was a mentality shift. But again, my memory of it could be tainted by nostalgia.

Well I don't remember Dana taking a stance on Aldo vs Mcgregor him taking a stance is pretty interesting. Mcgregor is gonna use this against Dana for not believing in his money maker.

I think that's the low risk strategy for them. Play up McGregor's moving to a new weight-class so that if he loses, his 145 career stays compelling. Plus if Conor wins it can be played like a "beat the odds" thing. Dana's gotta realize Conor is plenty big enough to beat LW's, if he loses it won't be about size. Dana was way to extreme with his critique imo.

I don't even feel like they're playing up this fight, or the fact that Connor is going up in weight atall. Ronda's on the shelf you would think UFC would be trying to make Connor look super human by doing this but nope. Everything's been pretty ho hum so far

Go take your meds.
(1) You seem to forget how people would get mad when Silva would be in boring fights because his opponent did not want to attack...

(2) Look at the way Chris Weidman KOed Silva, if Chris had attacked Conor like that, he would be the SLUMPED...

You can't fight Conor the way Weidman fought Silva, you will be put to sleep...You have to wrestle and BJJ Conor...

(3) The evidence is on film...No need for meds...

what you mean?
Conor's way too early in his career to be calling him the "greatest striker in UFC history". Let him get some more big names under his belt, then he can be thrown in the mix. Silva's striking was not only great, but he won in insanely dominant fashion. He moved up in weight and tooled both fighters at light heavy, Conor hasn't even faced RDA yet. Besides, I could see the Diaz brothers both giving him problems with the hands or even Cowboy chopping him apart with kicks.

I rewatched it earlier today, that entire fukking fight is a major embarrassment. If he doesnt KO Bispring he needs to retire at the fukking post fight conference
