Bout will be fun just for the pre fight trash talk the actually fight isn't actually as exciting as you would think (if you are a Connor fan of course) I might be in the minority but I actually wouldn't be mad if they held off on making some bandaid fight and just re-booked the RDA fight another day. This kind Jimmy fix it booking is short sighted

Your scenario would make sense if RDA's injury was relatively minor and they could re-book the fight right now. But that's not the case.

2 scenarios:

1. Conor waits for RDA to heal and is booked in a future card. This will take time.

2. Conor takes a fun keep busy fight. In the meantime, RDA recovers from injury. Conor likely wins and they book fight with RDA.

I don't know about you, but scenario 2 looks a lot better.

And if he loses then what? the whole making history storyline is over and for what, a diaz that is really a highly favoured gate keeper posing as a contender? It's an unecessary gamble

I don't see Conor losing this fight, the gamble is minimal.
