huh? Jones only started writing his legacy in 2011 and he already has the most sub finishes of any LHW. Out of the who's who of victims he's slayed the only one he went to a decesion with is rashad. GSP can't even finish any WW not called matt hughes. So I don't know what u are trying to say

I thought that you were trying to say the opposite... I think the same thing as you. I though u trying to say something about him being scared to fight Silva. I don't think he's making excuses, I think the fight just doesn't make sense.

Chael sells fights. And Jones cleaned out the division. They needed to buy some time to develop Gustaffson and clear out for Anderson Silva. All other fights that would've made sense would've been rematches.

It's pretty obvious why, the cupboard is gettin pretty bare in the LHW dept for guys who can sell fights and aren't retreads. A quick look at the rankings on ufc.com tells a sad story.

Gegard Mousasi
Ryan Bader

Looking at that sad list, the only 2 hopefuls are Gustafsson and Teixeira really. And that's probably the reason Dana/joe silva are trying to build them up slowly so that they can create a quality or true num1 contender.

He's a 1 trick pony, using his combination of size and speed to always remain in control. If he goes up to 185, he won't have the size advantage that he's had in majority of his fights.

Really think about it, could you see him out wrestling or even controlling on the ground guys like Chael, or Munoz or even Weidman at 185. And sure he can stand and jab with Diaz, Koscheck n Sheilds, but I doubt he'll want anything to do wit Silva, Wiedman, or even Stann's stand up game.

I agree with most this post but the bit in bold.Stann's striking is mediocre and his TDD is horrid so with the threat of a double leg he won't do much against GSP standing.As for weidman not really a fan so maybe someone in the know can dispel this but aint his striking rudimentry? GSP isn't likely to be as dumb as munoz and charge in head first he's too conservative for that.If they were to fight either weidman smoothers him (as the bigger dude) or its a boring kickboxing tap match

but he confessed that he walks around at 210-190lbs so by virtue he could make MW. Look @ aldo, he's done his business at FW and being the competitor that he is he's set to move up. Its just the natural progression of any true mmatist that's in the sport for the challenge. GSP isn't being challenged but is resigned to staying @ WW because if he were to move up hed get exposed.I will never understand why the 2nd bj penn fight was so talked about, cuz using your logic that didn't make sense

To tell you the truth I dont want to see GSP fight any1. I love going to see the ufc events in montreal, the crowd atmosphere is insane when GSP fights, but the actual fight itself is just not that entertaining. He either lay and preys and wins by decision or he stands 5 feet away jabbing for 5 rounds and wins by decision. It's the exact reason why I started to hate boxing, 2 guys in the middle of the ring just jabbing and saying they are doing technical boxing. But no1 really wants to go get it, and go for the knockout

but on the flipside ufc aint making as much as he is making out.Sure they probably lie about some ppv numbers to shaft fighters not in the inner circle.But listening to hm one would think zuffa make like 15+ mill a ppv which just isnt the case

Who makes that much? and isnt that just a base salary not including sponsors/bonuses? and whether its good or bad ufc add to a fighter's purse at their discretion
