That's not true at all imo. Weidman almost never GNP's from guard. He immediately passes guard in almost all cases. He's probably the best guard passer at MW right now. That's his best attribute imo. From halfguard he usually gives up space to get a a D'Arce choke. The D'Arce is his best sub and probably what he'll go for. He almost never stays in full guard. I hope he gets knocked out but his guard passing is amazing. On the flip side one of Anderson's biggest strengths is getting guys back into full guard.

Anderson is working religiously to take away his strengths. That darce will not be happening. Hes only got the darce choke on Once. Andersons full guard is serious and the damage he can put on people from it is serious. He has the best offensive striking closed guard in MMA. Weidman just doesnt have the tools necessary to defeat the spider outside of a Lucky submission.
This is what Im afraid of. Silva on a radio interview today stated that he's not even working on any of this shyt he's just doing him, working out like he normally does and is focusing on his game.... while I agree w this philosophy, Chris is working harder than he has in his life to exploit Andersons so called weaknesses.
On a side note.. that weight class sucks now that belfort won his match... Silva beats Chris and he might as well fight Roy Jones in boxing then retire.

What he does normally is a lot though, friend. Weidman only has 2 submissions and both of them are chokes. Anderson is a master and has the ability. I believe he will win.

Yep. Anderson may not be Damien Maia on the ground but he's the best outside of Jon jones at using his limbs(is why his muy Thai is so fluid) and his black belt is legit from one of the goats. He's also crafty as hell, the technique he used to finish Nate marquardt, the trip he used to finish Stephen Bonnar, the vitor front kick, the tony fryklund elbow, the shoulder rolls vs Okami, the hand trap he also used vs Okami at the end of the first round where he landed a head kick, the list goes on he has so many tools. This is why I think he could beat Jon jones all it takes is one mistake Anderson's killer instinct is top notch

You can't visualize Jon on top...raining down elbows en route to a TKO victory.
And it's not as if Jon doesn't have submissions
Episode no.2 of Fight Master airs tonight....so far, so great.
Anybody saw Rousey's Fighter's Cut? She gave a play by play of her last 3 fights...she really broke down the action well....very technical with how she was breaking down her work....This wasn't like Tito stumbling/stammering or Mir waxing poetic about subbing Brock after 2 minutes of getting smacked around....you'll all still hate her, though

Thing is though. As great as Jones wrestling is...is he gonna be able to get Silva down? I can see Anderson peppering jones with a variety of strikes to disrupt Bones' rhythm on his shot.
Weidman hasn't subbed anyone in MMA the caliber of Anderson. I just re-watched the Munoz fight and he struggled to sub Munoz, and ended up of course landing that elbow. Even still I'm glad he's confident in his skills but he hasn't seen anyone on Anderson's level.
