UFC set the precedent when they pulled that stunt with gsp and had him facing diaz instead of hendricks if they want to act like this is a problem now :patrice:
.You pick jones over cain cormier? :why: jones couldnt take gus down till what the 4th-5th round? couldnt defend a TD when gus was fresh either but hes going to beat mr one dimensional 'I just want to get close to smother you like a bear' cormier? :leon:

You think Jones can't beat DC. He still has a 10 inch reach advantage

Cormier is 35 so he doesn't want ti wait around for too long

If jon loses to gus he will get an immediate rematch pushing cormier title shot back even further so i can see why he wants the fight now

With that said jones will beat gus easier the next time

If hasn't negotiated his contract extension yet why would he agree to anything
Dana white is a piece of shyt and is leading the ufc into certain destruction

Why is Jones so dead set on not fighting Gus? (not saying he's ducking him). I thought Jones wanted bigger names/fights and vs. Gus, he'll do better PPV numbers imo. Either way, if they do Cormier/Jones, Gus will face the winner.
stop it

Cormier is not one-dimensional.
sure hes got kickboxing prowess but that was strikeforce the ufc cormier is a mixture of cain and couture and its wrestling wrestling wrestling mixed with dirty boxing against cage then back to wrestling, TD smoother with some :ld: gnp then back to smothering. The sub in his last fight changes nothing, for 90% of his fights its quite monotonous

10 inch reach advantage aint going to keep someone as agile as cormier at bay forever, dude has got competent striking and the threat of wrestling. If jones couldnt stop Gus's TDs (when all things were square) you honestlly think hes going to keep corm away? come on

Other than his fight with Hendo, all his UFC fights have been primarily on the feet. What fights have you been watching? He's a great striker with elite wrestling, I wouldn't call that one-dimensional. Guys like Rampage and Hendo are one-dimensional, Cormier is not.

Diaz-Spider is the only fight I felt that I would wanna watch from Silva, if he didn't retire.

It just makes sense to me. With the right promotion, it EASILY does a million buys.

And Jones is a disciple(nuthugger :manny: )of Silva....he's just doing what Spider did leading up to the Sonnen rematch...playing as the dastardly heel that is constantly saying his old opponent doesn't deserve a rematch...then eventually rematching the opponent in a huge fight....he's just building the fight up. There's entirely too much sense in the rematch..Jones knows that.
I dont see it I think there was legit resentment esp from silva that a racist was sort of afforded a free pass to a rematch ,he knew the amount of money to be made in buys so was always going to do it he was just going to take his time agreeing to it Jones is a different animal hes new school, definately does not have the same competetive drive and is a little prissy. His concern is with his career/wealth he knows that fight shed a few years off his career a and isnt looking to relive that experience so soon..Hell maybe deep down he knows he got exposed and that when all things are equal and his length/wrestling is negated there is someone that can make him pay..Lets face it he got lucky in the later rounds due to gus getting tired
And why do ppl keep saying Jones got his ass whooped when he was clearly the stronger fighter in the championship rounds?

Who was the only guy in that fight that got close to finishing his opponent? I can agree that they BOTH got their asses whipped in that fight but ppl wanna give too much credit to a guy who almost got knocked out in the 4th round and, even while doing well, was getting walked down for the majority of the fight. :snoop:
Have you seen king mo v mousasi? best example of a winner walking away from a fight actually getting a worst ass whipping than the loser

Hence why I mentioned couture hes fought a lot like him in some of his ufc fghts but yeah I dont complete cormier fights past the first couple rounds cuz its repetitive and the result is a forgone conclusion .What exactly was the mir fight, a sparing contest stuck in first gear for the most part. Nelson fight was garbage too just one line of attack and thats it..Cummings fight doesnt count and now hes become a cain clone :camby:

You said 'wrestling, wrestling, wrestling...' which is not true. His fights have a good amount more striking exchanges than clinch work.

His style is similar to Cain's, but so what? Cain is a top P4P fighter who is very exciting (not saying that Cormier is super exciting). Is there problem with having a similar style to Cain's?

So Jones had years taken off his career but Gustaffson didn't? :drake: They BOTH got beat up that night. A 1-sided ass whooping isn't gonna be seen as "the greatest title fight in light heavyweight history". Gustaffson "wants" to get a rematch so he can possibly win a title, not b/c it's fun or a cakewalk fighting Jon Jones. And fatigue is luck? Jon was more well-conditioned, was used to all that goes into 5 round fights, wasn't anywhere near being knocked out and fought at a pace that made Gustaffson fade. That's not luck lol...that's Jon being better that night. And the Mo-Gegard fight is so totally not like Gus-Jon that I can't even understand why you'd mention it. There's no doubt in my mind these 2 are fighting on 8/30/14....can't wait.
