I would think Jones is doing all this because hes savvy like Silva in terms of drumming up interest/angling more money by ducking but I legit think he does not want to ever face Gus again. Which is funny because I believe he would win the rematch. But Jones seems like the type who wants to win in safe, dominant fashions. He doesn't like drawn out, back and forth battles. He wants ppl to marvel at how good he is and how impressive he was in total domination like with the Glover fight

Anybody remember @Screwface Exchange's post from last year:
BTW was talking to a very close friend of mine who does personal security for some ufc fighters and is friends with Jones. My friend has been working on some tours doing security so hasn't been around much but he was back in town for xmas, and he told me he talked to Jones after the Gus fight and Jones told em with the most serious fan that he is NEVER giving Gus a rematch. He said that was the hardest fight in his hell an dis still shocked he won. He said he was fighting off pure muscle memory and instinct as he blacked out for parts of the fight. He has told Dana and Lorenzo that he will fight any1 and will even go up in weight class just to avoid fighting Gus.

:ohhh:

''I know I can beat TJ Dillashaw. It was his day, but I think I am a more complete fighter than he is. I hope we have an immediate rematch. But if I have to face someone else to get a title shot back, I will do it.''

 at Barao's face. I'm a fan of Barao, but he needs at least one more win and then he can have a shot at the title. I would advocate for a rematch, if the fight was close, but he got thoroughly dominated and finished.

You just in here talking about gus deserve's a rematch when he wasn't even the champion

this nikka deserves an immediate rematch of GP for being a champ and also because of he's winning streak

You've also said that Cormier hasn't beaten anybody and doesn't deserve a shot at Jones. Your opinion = :trash:

Getting thoroughly dominated and finished shouldn't mean you get a rematch. There is Assuncao waiting, who's more deserving than Barao and has actually beaten Dillashaw recently.

Every champ deserves a chance to regain their belt especially one who has dominated for a while your logic makes no sense

Cormier beat dan henderson and thats it what are u talking about but thats a better win in lhw than any of gus victories

Jones recently said that he's changed his mind and is not planning to move to HW anytime soon. But other than that, I agree with your post.

My logic doesn't make sense? :russ: Even the biggest Barao fans are saying he needs to win a fight before facing Dillashaw again.

A win over Shogun is the equivalent to a win over Hendo. But, overall, Cormier does have a slightly better resume than Gus.

Silva lost every round and was knockout by weidman and got immediate rematch

U give guys like that immediate rematches and should be the only case it happens

Barao deserves an immediate rematch and im not a fan of his

He earned it for being dominant

Did you just really compare [arguably] the GOAT to Barao? No knock against Barao. Also, TJ's win over Barao was more definitive than Weidman's win over Anderson.

Barao went undefeated for so long he deserve's rematch, for the same reason anderson deserved one

for the same reason jon jones would deserve one if he lost

the same reason my mayweather has a rematch clause in his contracts if he loses

this is how combat sports have always worked

Thats a stupid comparison. The first Weidman fight I think everyone acknowledges he lost by his own foolishness. Barao got dominated. He was not a long term champ like Silva. Hell he never even beat the official last champ
