Lol at all the ppl that want to see benson v khabib, what exactly is the point of feeding benson potential contenders on the come up only to have another bendo/pettis fight? They had a spirited first fight the pettis won via decision and the 2nd fight he handled him swiftly in the 1st rd. There is no need for a rubber match its obvious who the better fighter is. Bendo is basically what became of franklin after silva destroyed him only problem is he's cleaned out the division practically.

I read that Pearson has filed an official appeal with the commission to get the decision overturned.

Good for him. Hope he gets that shyt overturned.

Who you think Benson takes on next? Khabib/Dos Anjos/Cerrone vs Miller winner/Thomson (if he beats Johnson)

If Cerrone wins against Miller idk if the UFC would set up Benson vs Cowboy III but I'd wanna see that.

Dos Anjos has won 6 outta his last 7 including a decision over Cowboy. His only loss is to Khabib though...

Khabib seems like the right answer for Benson and match up the winner of Cerrone/Miller against Dos Anjos.

Thompson is ranked number 3 and idk why? Dude beat Gilbert in 2008 (6 years ago) and TKO'd Nate Diaz. He is otherwise known for losing split decisions to Gil and Benson. He's fighting Michael Johnson next month and even with a win over Johnson it doesn't justify his #3 ranking imo.

Nurmagomedov vs Henderson!! Book it Dana!!

:smugdana:

Thomson has beaten Nate (first person to TKO him), JZ Cavalcante, Healy and Noons. And many people thought he beat Bendo (most of the media and fans had it for him) and he lost another super close fight to Gil. He's definately top 5 imo

-Cavalcante :comeon: Had some decent hype, went to DREAM and all that stopped. Than Thomson fought him in Strikeforce and got the decision.
-Healy became somewhat of a beast in Strikeforce, but when Thomson fought him he wasn't there yet. Ever since coming to the UFC this dude has done NOTHING except for screw up his marquee win over Jim Miller and is now on a 3 fight losing streak.
-KJ Noons has always been a one dimensional striker, never been a top 15 lightweight period.

Thomson definitely lost to Benson imo. Thomson's only offensive production was takedowns, where he would take Benson's back repeatedly but Benson was always able to get back to his feet, and a strike that briefly dropped Benson in the 5th. Benson outstruck him 114-33 over the 5 rd fight, (71-10 in rds 3 & 4) and had some takedowns of his own.

I'm not saying the dude isn't talented, I just think he is vastly overrated in that #3 spot. He's got one solid W against Nate Diaz. Dude needs to beat some more top 10 competition to justify his rank :manny:

I agree Pettis has beaten Benson twice decisively, but this is Benson's gameplan to get another title shot imo:

1. Pettis vs Gil isn't until December. That's 6 month's of deciding who's next for Pettis/Gil.
2. Benson keeps saying he wants his belt back, and the only way he's gonna even have a chance at a third shot at Pettis is by asking for and beating the top contenders in the division. If Gilbert beats Pettis (which Benson is probably hoping for) and Benson has been racking up W's vs the top contender's he would be the clear cut next guy in line for a shot. The UFC is gonna more willing to set up Melendez vs Benson II, than Pettis vs Benson III imo.

i think you gotta give benson another shot if he keeps winning, hes still a main event-or on free tv
once franklin lost to silva twice he basically disappeared

Pettis is turning into a real dikk. Who has this nikka beaten outside of Benson? That first victory was suspect and the 2nd was fluke

He's been a dikk for years. I never liked dude. Trust me, if they let him get press like Jones was doing they'll start hating him the same way. He's incredibly full of himself and doesn't give much credit to his opponents after their fights.

He's beaten Bendo x2 and Cerrone, all ranked in the top 10. Joe was just outside the top 10 when Pettis beat him. The second fight was not a fluke, even before the finish Pettis was easily winning the fight. I guess you can call the finish a bit flukey.

Yea no one. Cerrone is inconsistent and Lauzon is not elite. The fact of the matter is Pettis is way to cocky from a guy who barely fights and hasn't truly been tested outside Bendo. Khabib would rape him btw. And thats if he gets by Gil

Cerrone and Lauzon are still solid wins.

Pettis has improved his wrestling considerably, I'd favor Pettis if they fought.

Who would you have above him?
1. Benson
2. Gilbert
3. Khabib- 6-0 in the UFC. Dos Anjos and Trujillo are his real solid wins. Also beat Healy and Tibau.
4. Dos Anjos- Won 6 outta his last 7, including a W over Cerrone, with his only loss to Khabib
5. Cerrone- He's inconsistent but has been on a tear lately. 3 straight wins all finishes. Facing Jim Miller next month, which should be an exciting fight.
6. Thomson- Split decision losses with Benson/Gilbert and TKO Nate Diaz. Needs to face more top 10 talent to move up.
7. Diaz- Choked out Miller, decision W over Cerrone and TKO'd Gray Maynard. His in-activeness, decisive loss to Benson, and TKO loss to Thomson hurts his rank.
8. Miller- Lost to Benson decisively, and got choked out by Nate Diaz. Has won 3/4 with two straight finishes.
9. Jury- Potential to make some noise in the LW division
10. Johnson- Three straight W's. Loss to Jury.
