During the GSP fight, Alves was ranked the 2nd best WW at the time by every major media outlet. Yahoo sports had him as the 10th ranked P4P fighter at the time. 'He was never upper echelon though'. :skip:
When the ufc/mma reporters "officially" started doing rankings chael sonnen wasnt even in the mw top 10 :pachaha: yeah they're real foolproof :beli:

That fight was over 3 three years before the GSP/Alves fight. Alves had a 7 fight win streak after the 1st Fitch fight (before fighting GSP) and had beaten 2 very strong wrestlers and 1 very strong grappler in those fights.

:what: What are you trying to say?

The fact remains, Alves was the 2nd best WW at the time and was definitely upper echelon.

What facts? Both men tried to use their wrestling against Thiago Alves and both men failed. Matt Hughes went for 7 TDs (only securing 1 TD) and Josh Koscheck went for 5 TDs (didn't succeed at all), they were a combined 1/12 in TDs. :camby:

You know the older a wrestler gets their explosiveness diminishes right? :mjpls: you know irrespective of a fighters wrestling pedigree without a sufficent camp they'll most likely shyt the bed right? Or do think that skill operates at an optimum without rigourous practice? :pachaha:

Lutter was not ranked and Leites was ranked 9th or 10th in the MW division. Both were obviously not elite.

When Forrest fought Shogun, he was the #1 ranked LHW and a top P4P fighter, 12-0 (with 10 finishes and wins over Overeem x2, Little Nog, Arona, Rampage and Randleman). And you just called him a ''latino tomatoe can/flabby Shogun''. :snoop::camby:Making that push for the worst poster in the Ring again.

Edit: Shogun was injured going into the Forrest fight, but it still an amazing performance by Forrest.

Complete drivel, I'm not even going to bother. Post something that makes sense and I'll respond.
