Rankings aside, Saffiedine is one of the best WWs in the UFC. The UFC wanted to bolster the upcoming 178 card and this was the best available option. Try again.
yeah its being bolstered to fans of mcdonald who get to see him again not because the fight announced has much intrigue, try what again? Is this lotto? :beli:

Jones is one of the top draws but pulls in average numbers at best. Its in the ufc's best interest to stack up this card to fetch as many buys as possible. Jones comes with a big price tag they need this to do more than 300k
With the talent and accomplishments that Jones has done, and the names on his list, I'm kinda disappointed they haven't built him as basically the new Anderson Silva. And since JJ has shown he can be a great heel, that might be the route he would have to go to get more buys. It's unfortunate, because I think it would be beneath Jon to go the Mayweather route, but if you need to sell tickets and get those buys up, it might just have to be done that way.

they cant market jones as the new anderson because for 1 hes not show man he just seems to perform clinics these days. And 2ndly i dont think jones and them are cool. jones is the most celebrated story going yet in the last couple of years dana speaks of everyone as pound for pound while he only pumps up jones in the lead up/post of his fights :beli:

Everyone keeps saying bones should go heel but there are some character traits that come with that like confidence, charisma which bones doesnt have. He will always care about his image hell thats 1 of the bugbears hes had with the ufc how he is portrayed. We've seen him try to be charismatic at post fight pressers and its not media friendly.

Another thing maybe the most important thing is ufc/mma aint diverse enough to have non white "bad guys". Ask yourself how many super bytches were black? How many of tv most beloved anti-heroes were non white? When chael sonnen would cross the line with his rhetoric or be gift wrapped title shots didnt u ever wonder where the uproar was? But he was a "heel" right?

The unwritten rule with heels is that fans have to love to hate them that way they are part of the show whether they know it or not. Jones would just be hated and then you are left with a hated champ no one wants to even see fight. Ufc aint ready for that and even if they were jones isnt that dude. If king mo had the skill to back up his gimmick maybe. Rampage could've done it

Jones is just like Lebron James only difference is Bron embraced the hate for a minute. Jones isn't willing to do that and it's not in his nature.
