I'm watching the Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson fight for the first time now. This is my record of events:

Round 1: Jones
Round 2: Jones
Round 3: Gustafsson
Round 4: Gustafsson
Round 5: Jones

Great fight. Gustafsson is talented.

For the most part, rankings are a good tool and make sense. with your 'but rankings..', acting as if rankings are completely meaningless.

rankings are meaningless for the most part, outside the top 5 it all becomes somewhat guess work. Ufc thrived without it in their prime and only use it now when it's suits. The way for a dude to get the fast track to a title shot is still the same, be on a streak and beat a dude that's a contender with relative name value

Woodley is not very consistent, but he's still beaten some top fighters. To say he's failed every major hurdle is just dumb, Condit was a major hurdle and he passed, DHK was a solid hurdle (top 10 fighter) and he passed.

to bring up the condit fight as validation he finally won a big one kind shows desperation on your part. Whilst that fight was recorded as a win it was unfinished and everyone knows it. DHK fights was no where the magnitude of fighting for a title, being in a title eliminator match or facing a dude that was basically the gsp of strikeforce we division, I know you used "solid" but stop it. That fight has no business being brought up in this discussion

You still haven't answered who you would have Lombard face? Naming a fighter (MacDonald) who has fight lined up is not going to cut it.

it doesn't cut it, like ufc aren't known to rearrange future fights in times of injury or pullot that has happened in the present the saffidine fight is less intriguing than Hector v McDonald. The only reason not to pull the trigger is because they want to protect McDonald and job someone out in front of Lombard's home crowd

Jones might have won Round 4 too as he almost knocked out Gustafsson in the end, but I felt Gustafsson also put in a great effort.

Ps I commend the girls for getting eyes on to their feud but what exactly are we suppose to buy into here, that bethia is going to destroy the horsewomen on route to the title? We know what the horsewomen are and this broad ain't winning these fights in a pretty fashion. If she beats Shayna the way she beat duke it's not going to make me thirsty to see her and Ronda. She needs a finish tonight

A ranking system will always have some minor faults. But to say it's meaningless is downright stupid. The official UFC rankings aside, the rankings on reputable websites make sense. Most fighters are ranked where they should be. Don't give me this bullshyt that it's all 'smoke and mirrors' and they're 'meaningless'.

The injury aside, it was a one-sided fight for Woodley. DHK is 10-3 in the UFC and was on a 4-fight win streak, he's a solid win.

I'm still waiting for you to name some potential opponents for Lombard.
