Just realized upon second watch that the site Elliot finds Ray and his boy running that is basically Silk Road is called Midland City.
Midland City is the town that Breakfast of Champions (by Vonnegut the gawd) takes place in. In the story, Vonnegut literally writes himself into the end of the plot to come into contact with his protagonist that has gone absolutely batshyt crazy. Vonnegut and him end up having a creator/creation conversation and it's one of his most unique pieces of writing by far.
